What did you do to your car today? Vol 2.0

Re: What did you do to your boat today? Vol 2.0

what im saying is there is no air, all you did was pull the pump, the lines are full of fluid, the pump is self bleeding, like as you filled it, it bled.

Update:

It could be that I still had air in the system after I did the PS fluid flush/change procedure found in the "How To" area not long ago.
I pulled the car into one of the bays at work this morning, put it up on jack stands, removed the reservoir cap and turned the wheel many times back and forth. Key on motor off. The fleet mechanic was checking for air bubbles for me, there were plenty.
Drove home with no issues. Pump is quiet and the steering wheel turns easily at idle.

I must have gotten lucky, snow fell but never stuck.

Driving the 06 now. Trying to get the mileage higher than 15.3 lol. 15.7 with one way to work so far.

being Canadian, clearly you must know the difference between a dusting and real snow fall lol

Re: What did you do to your boat today? Vol 2.0

Darn skippy I do. For me, this isn't even snow. It stopped over an hour ago and there is barely anything left on the ground.

The funny thing is that 90% of this city freaks out at this stuff. Nobody knows how to drive in the snow, yet it snows the same every freaking year.

Re: What did you do to your boat today? Vol 2.0

yeah, its 1/2 way up the hash mark at the line in the middle, when ice cold. its not gotten past 140 yet. 5 mile trips keep the temps cool, so ive not even checked it hot yet. figure it will hit the full line when it hits 170.

tranny feels f ing great too. ive still not done a wot hit on it. only about 4000 rpm and let it go on its own and its al like yes i shifted, and you felt it good.

i also recommend a BrandonHall tranny to anyone when the opportunity arises. solid unit for sure. :th_thumb-up::th_thumb-up:

Thanks man. I appreciate that. There's a good possibility you got the last one... So much work. Maybe I'll do another one after the S10 is done.

But probably not. ;)

Maybe. The other really hard part is laying out many hundreds of dollars in parts, then waiting weeks or months for a return on that investment. Then the guilt of secretly of wishing and wanting someone's transmission to fail. :th_spyme: Lol.

I'm starting to think all 3800s eat oil. Even the new engine is showing one empty dot on the dipstick

Re: What did you do to your boat today? Vol 2.0

yeah this one is also taking up some oil. no smoke ever, no leaks, my thinking is once they hit 100,000 miles, they start eating oil up. and mines got about 115,000 on the short block.
