Re: What did you do to your Car today? Vol 2.0

Hard to beat em.. Reliable and parts are rather inexpensive.

Not sure how old you are, but really anything pre-96 is good in my book, everyone has their little problems but overall they're all good. I know a lot of guys here a bowtie humpers, but I like Ford and Chevy equally. Every somewhat new Dodge I've worked on was a PITA for no reason other than poor design.

Re: What did you do to your Car today? Vol 2.0

Haven't been impressed with the newer Dodges. Had a few buddies that had them.. For the price they paid.. It's rather plain. He always wish he just got a Silverado.

I'm 20 almost 21 but I have an old soul and prefer older vehicles. I'm not a ford guy especially from 98 or whenever they changed the body style toll now.
Chevys love em all. And dodges 2nd gens hold a special place for me. Those are 1994-2001.

Re: What did you do to your Car today? Vol 2.0

I see 2010+ Rams with rusted...everything. I see more newer Chevy's rusted out here than Ford's, but like I said, I'm not choosing one brand over the other. Both have pluses and minuses. No one makes a perfect vehicle. Most of the time it's people that only change the oil only 10,000 miles and nothing else maintenance related that hate a specific brand when it breaks down.

Re: What did you do to your Car today? Vol 2.0

It could be the Ford owner cleaned the undercarriage more, it could be something else, I'm just sharing my experience. The Ford Mod series had some problems in the beginning, but they got them straightened out after s few years (not unlike the plastic LIM gaksets 3800s had). Just like the Spider injectors on the 4.3l hind site is 20\20, and that applies to car manufactures too.

All that said, my dream camping rig is a 78-79 Bronco with a E4OD and a 1994+ roller 351W with GT40s, etc. My truck is a 1989 F150, for the record, lol.

Re: What did you do to your Car today? Vol 2.0

My first truck was a 4.3 Silverado 5 speed I beat on that truck and damn did it take it like a champ.

Re: What did you do to your Car today? Vol 2.0

All I know is I'll avoid drive-by-wire as long as I can. I need a truck but it has to be OLD so less laws affect it so I can do what I want. Mine would be bare bones. BTW there IS no 93 here, period. The 455 could run two more degrees initial if there was, for a kick in the butt dyno. My friend that works in the next stall has a 97 Ram that lays frame and body at the same time, hood is clearanced for tires, etc. Fairly hardcore slammed Ram. Last time he had it on the road just finished a Honda ran OVER it and killed a bunch of custom work. I don't want something a Honda can run over, I do know that!

On my GTP today... just another 40 miles of bliss, it goes where I point it. Betty took me to TB.

Re: What did you do to your Car today? Vol 2.0

Oil pressure gauge came in, just need to wait to put all the senders in, stupid back went out after 1 day of work so I have to build it up again before any major car work. Damn.
I love the LED lights, car is freakin bright at night, lol:

Re: What did you do to your Car today? Vol 2.0

damn those are bright!!!! you need a vacuuming, just like i do. my car needs a full douching inside really. pollen dust everywhere again. its that green dust time of year.

Re: What did you do to your Car today? Vol 2.0

I have to add, Led's are one of the best easy mods. I did custom leds in my trunk which is really bright as well. Plus underhood leds just in case.

Re: What did you do to your Car today? Vol 2.0

Yep, it is for sure. Thankfully we don't have very bad allergies. Another thing on the list of things to do when my back is better is treat the rust on the driver side strut tower, and do it all on the passenger side. Then I have 15 feet of LED strip to put in to light the trunk up.

Re: What did you do to your Car today? Vol 2.0

^^^^That's what I have 15 feet of for the trunk, lol. This is an old pic, but I've got 2w LEDs in the Map lights, and 1.5w in the foot wells, doors (all 4) and the over headlights in the back.

Bright is an understatement.

Re: What did you do to your Car today? Vol 2.0

Haha yeah, and why not. LEDs can be bought for almost nothing. Found the underhood pic

Not a good pic as there is a work light covering part of it, but it's plenty bright. Way better than any stock light that some vehicles came with

Re: What did you do to your Car today? Vol 2.0
