Looks cool, but it's one of those where the timing chain is in the back of the motor. But it's Audi lol. Look at that Torque though:

Yes, chain is in the back and yes..the service interval for swapping the chain is never. The bigger potential issue is carbon build up on intake valves because it's direct injected. Pretty common issue happening with all DI motors.

The ones that had this issue were the V8 4.2's...the V6 cars never experienced this issue.

Just floor it once a day to keep the carbon away.

Thanks for the misconception on how to fix it. The carboning happens because the pcv sends crankcase crap back through the intake valves. Since there is no fuel hitting the valves, they won't get cleaned.

Flooring an engine cleans the combustion chamber, not the back side of the valve where it seals.

I'm looking into it. Most of the A6 guys don't mod, so I need to look up what the S4/S6 guys are doing.

Already scoped out the calipers for the S6, found them pretty reasonably priced. 15 3/16" rotors.. mmmmm yummy

My buddy has a 2001 Audi something, I forget. Twin Turbo V6 and it has some weird lookin calibers, and the "internal" lug nuts. AKA lug bolts. They still doin that stuff?

I haven't pulled a wheel, but it appears from what I've found that yes.. studs ....

I've found that over time I actually prefer the lug bolts over lug nuts.
