What is that thing you crazy college kids do with your phones again... with the messages? Excuse me I'm a tad old BAHAHAHA

Text her off and on, like if you know she will have a game on a particular day, before the game starts text a "Good Luck" message so you don't put yourself out there or really bother her, just some encouragement and a little thought of you in the back of her mind. Basically she will probably just replay "Thnx" or "TY :)" and prep mentally for the game, but subconsciously she will have you in the back of her mind and that might relate to a late night thank you call after they win.

Just a thought, but Iceman does have a valid point tho too.
 


Well ok let me put it a bit more bluntly...How are you going to feel if you two stay friends and you find out she is with someone else.. IS THAT SOMETHING you want to put yourself through? Because it is a fact that it COULD happen...

THIS, I totally agree with Josh in this situation. It's not the best "option" in your eyes. But I come from experience and I'm sure Josh does as well. Seeing an ex with someone else is just a horrible feeling. I threw up and got sicker than shat over my ex when i "stayed in contact" with her. Never again will I do that. Haven't spoken to my ex since December. It's all been for the best and I have moved on.

Yes i understand what you are getting at. and it would kill me to see that but after 5 years of dating, she better be with someone new soon or that is a complete b**** move. Ill make an effort to try and be with her again after some time passes, and if it fails, thats when i know it wasnt meant to be so then i can look back at least see that i tried.

I don't want to be mean or negative, but frankly it is something that does need to be considered because the odds are low, she did want the breakup and that's never a good start.

I was going to remain positive on keeping good contact as friends until it came to the dreaded sloppy "Im already too drunk to give a F***" post once it turned downhill, but Goober here has to just slap you in the face with honesty. What are friends for after all, right?

We can type this over and over until we all get Carpel-Tunnel, but really it comes down to whether or not you want to risk the fact that you may get back together on a really broken heart. You have a 50/50 chance, it will work or it won't. Not favorable odds to be frank, but still possible. Just up to your will and how you can handle it.

I think you should put your phone away and stop texting her, lose all contact. If it's meant to be, SHE will contact you. Seriously. I went through this same **** with my ex and I kept running back to her after she broke up with me and we did it 7 times till I finally realized what was happening and got some sense talked into me. Move on, it's the best thing. Plenty of other fish in the sea.

Then if this is what i have to do, then Jeremy. We are hanging out all the time. Since i have no girlfriend, i have a lot of time and need to stay busy. Best way to stay busy is listen to a buddies v8 Mustang all day. Sound like a plan? Good.
