Welded exhasut & still slow

Ok so I've had my exhaust welded at the header collector few times. Dad tack welded it on. That didn't work out so well. Had it welded by a local performance shop. That guy missed the seam & the top of the collector completely. Had it welded by a professional welder. He welded the seams all the way around & it held up for several days. Now the light is on again & the car is running slow & I can hear the leak. Question is should I ask the welder to go over it again since he said he would if I had problems or should I maybe go back top stock exhaust/ headers? I have PaceSetters all the way back.:th_shakinghead2:

Yes the Y-pipe. I'll try welding again b4 buying new headers. Headers aren't exactly cheap.

-lol I spelled exhaust very wrong...ftl

Have you seen Bluegtp's post about the welding? (I can't find it) I did this and don't have a single problem. Cheap headers are exactly that... you get what you pay for.

YOu could pull the pace****ters and sell them for 100 or 150 and get the sd's

i dont think ive seen one person say anything positive about pacesetters... speeddaddy are down to 185 id just get those

You guys are acting like the SD headers are from the heavens. Me and another member on here (Vailskier) put some on his 07 gp.... and guess what? They required welding too.
.
What I like about my pacesetters? They are coated, welded, and don't leak. Cheap headers are exactly that... cheap.

SD is speed daddy mayne.. lol

And my SD's dont need welded and plenty of others didnt need theirs welded

Then you must have a run of the 'perfect' ones. Slip fit headers suck... no matter the brand. And band clamps suck as well for headers.... next thing I expect to hear is that rtv solves all exhaust leaks.

You have made me curious now... im starting a poll about header welding... please vote.

my ssac's dont leak...and they have been on for 2 years. Granted I used Copper RTV. Paceseters are slip fit aswell. I dont see how you can bash ssac's or SD with pacesetters lol. SD's are even a better quality stainless then pacesetters

My pacesetters are heavier than SD headers ....that's all I can say since I haven't had any other experience with other brands. However less mil means more fail in the future. I'm not saying you can't have a great pair of slip fit headers ...but the design sucks...and no one is going to invest a quality set to resell for us. Honestly if I knew before hand about the issues with SD and pacesetters.... I would of got some zzp one's. Rarely hear anything bad about the or togs.

Pacesetter's...my primaries are biggest and they are 200* armor coated.

And FOR REAL...where the F**K DID MY THREAD GO? That thing was long as hell.
