Weight Loss or Weight Gain Thread "2012"

slow I tried the reverse bench last monday on smith (245) and this monday on flat (185). I can say its weird. Ill have to study it more in depth to fully understand its mechanics. I can say though that my shoulder needed 0 warmups, so thats always a plus.

Good to hear. I haven't gotten to it... my shoulder still pops in and out a bit right now, though I got some overhead presses in tonight with no issue. I agree that there's probably a decent learning curve... probably take a couple weeks to really settle into a comfortable form.

Well for the past 2ish months, I have not lifted at all.

I was up to 191 pounds and not all of it was muscle. Starting to get to much fat on my stomach area as I was not eating properly. So for the last 2ish months if been on a diet cutting weight, doing lots of cardio and only Ab workouts every other day. I am now down to 173 pounds.

Today, was first day back at the gym, still following Corey's routine and did Chest and Triceps. I was absolutely shocked how much muscle I lost. I couldn't even lift 195 - 4 times on bench as my last set. Pathetic.

Even though my lifting weight is WAY down from before, I still did the "max" of what I was capable of doing. And after 2 months off from lifting, I am extremely sore. Worked myself so hard, to the point I felt as if I was going to puke.

But the feeling of being sore, working hard, and lifting again is amazing.

I will be taking in lots of calories, 3500 - 4000 a day, consisting of Lean meat such as Chicken, as well as eggs and Fish, with plenty of water (1.5 gallons a day), and lots of fruits and vegetables.

Protein shake twice daily, Multi-Vitamin, Joint support, C4 (Pre-workout), Glutamine, and Creatine Mono.

Let the lifting routine begin, again.

muscle memory is fun. NEVER stop lifting on a cut!. Only takes 2 weeks for the body to start eating away and everything u earned.

PSA: Learn to count your plates. I'm a big dumb animal and failed to lockout a deadlift I thought was 90lbs lighter. Had I not already been smoked, I might have actually pulled it, so I might have made some unexpected progress. Yay for that... and not passing out.

haven`t been on this thread in a while. Im on a 4 month bulk right now started at 152 currently 162 aiming for 165-170 by end of august. im also 5 ft 9 and 20 years old. My lifts are pretty big fro my weight. been lifting for 3 years now

Got down to 209 yesterday. Played 18 holes in a 4 person scramble for 6 hrs. Heat kicked my ass. Tried to workout today and I just couldn't get anything done. I left halfway through my workout and rode the bike back home. I will try again tomorrow.

I think I used a bunch of muscles that I haven't used in awhile or something. Wowsa.

Here are really nice and most informative article is posted by you. I am very thankful to you for your this kindness. I think if someone want to lose weight then must he should try to take balanced diet, infect he should eat low fat and carbs. Drink more water and the most effective thing is your exercise. So don't forget to do this.

A buddy harassed me for not posting anything about a gym in a while, because he's too fat to care, so to harass him back I wrote out this evening's workout for him. Why not post it here, too, eh?

Row 800m
Deadlift:
5x225; 5x315; 3x405; 1x495; 3,3x405; 1x495; 3,3x405
Deadlift Walks
4x6ftx405
Single Hand Deadlift:
5,5x225; 3,3x285; 3,3,3,3,2,2x315
Military Press:
10,10xbar; 10x65; 10x85; 10x95; 5x105; 5x115; 5x125; 5x135; 5,5,3,3x155; 5,5,5,5,5,5x135

Just shy of 15 tons of total weight moved in an hour.

All on day 5 of PSMF@ ~1,700Cal/day (as a point of reference, I'd recently been hovering around 4,000/day); 3rd heavy deadlift session in a week.

I'm a high school lineman. All I do is eat, even though I lift and workout, I still gain weight. Hopefully some growing still left to do, if not then I don't know why I'm so hungry!

Lifting like a dufus while "cutting" might not be the way to go. Bruises are taking forever to go away. Pulled something in my forearm deadlifting a few days ago and it hurt enough tonight to make me stop deadlifting tonight. Wrist is pretty sore from yesterday's cardio session (1 hour clean and press 165lbs). Guess I'll take tomorrow night off and catch a movie or something.

Anyone ever have this bruising issue? It didn't seem to be a problem for me on 3,500 Calories/day. I don't mind the pain so much as the ugly.

^^^ I did that during my personal training. I think it's what partially made my mono relapse. Cutting food intake while working out hard is tough.

So I said I was gaining weight in a previous thread. Measured my height today and I've grown about a quarter inch lately :) I noticed that the fat stomach I had been gaining started to go down again and I could see my top abs again. Hopefully I keep shootin' up!

decided against going to the gym yesterday since i basically sweated my ass ass off from head to toe for a couple hours on my way home from work and when i got home taking the seat off my bike.

IT'S TOO DAMN HOT OUTSIDE FOR WISCONSIN.

Including the heat index it feels like 100 here in Ohio. And I bailed straw today... so horrible lol

I forgot how good the gym felt.

I wasn't losing definition but I was losing strength.

I hate how stressful life was getting there for awhile and stopping me from getting to the gym.
