Weight Loss or Weight Gain Thread "2012"

Right on! I hope to be down to 200 by Aug. I gained 5lbs over the weekend somehow. All water bloat crap i'm sure. Gonna try to get a good bike ride in tomorrow shooting for another 25 miler.

Just ran a mile and a half pushing a double stroller talk about a workout. Walked another 3 miles though. Keep up the good work. Don't let a little weight gain throw you off.

Rode 35 miles on my mountain bike this morning. Burned 2500cals. :D Ate a lunch worth about 950 calories lol.

and thats funny how? you lunch is almost half of the calorie intake u should be getting. I mean at this point why even try when your NOT trying...... You people understand to lose weight you have to be in a calorie DEFICIT. If you burn 2500 cals a day, to lose 1 lb a week ONE POUND A WEEK you CANNOT exceed 2000 calories a day that INCLUDES ALLLLL snacks, drinks, ANYTHING you put in your mouth. You cant be in a deficit 5 days a week and splurge the other 2. THis is one of the reasons why I refuse to be a trainer, I cant stand people that wontgive it all for their goal in the shortest amount of time. Nobody seems to realize thats its EASY as **** to bust ass be real strict for a short amount of time and get INSANE results instead of dragging it on, making excuses, oh I gained 10lbs oops. I am also tired of people saying oh I gained 5lbs oops. That dont mean ****, I range 5-7 lbs DAILY IM not cutting NOR bulking. Man the people these days just dont wanna try. End roid rant and hungry rant. ugh

i feel ya, hurtz. it happens. i could probably stay strict with my diet and be good about it, but i don't have a "goal" that i'm after.

i'm just working out so i don't get any fatter while i eat and drink myself into the grave.

I burned 2500cals in just riding my bike man. I was hungry when I got home. I didn't mean for it to be funny. I just slapped the LOL on there. Ya I pigged out a bit yesterday. I understand your frustration hurtz. I'm not trying to make excuses. I've got 17 more lbs to get to my goal of 195lbs. I'd say going from a size 42-40 to 36-34 is pretty decent. Hell most of my 36s hang off me anymore without a belt. I'm under my calories for today, I'm at 1410 right now and I don't plan on eating anything else today. It's just hard when I get off work at 1030 and get home I tend to get the munchies. I have a hard time telling myself no sometimes.

I'm aiming for my 34's to fit me again when i'm at 195ish. They are pretty tight right now lol. I ate to much yesterday too. Today I only had a turkey sandwich I made from home and water. I'll be having some mac and cheese in a little bit when the kids get hungry otherwise I probably wouldn't eat much more today. Damn kids lol

Ya i had a good breakfast and it held me over pretty well. I'm going to be eating a chicken breast I grilled latenight last night and a can of green beans in a bit. Then tell myself no. Then off to drink a pissload of water.

In the dark recesses of this thread lie my experiments with what amounted to a combination of low calorie and low quality food. I encountered a great deal of difficulty in trying to train harder and more often before I switched to larger quantities of nutrient dense food. I started with training 2-3 hours a week and now hit about 10-12 hours with more enthusiasm and faster recovery. Soon after the switch, I needed to shorten my belt and throw my pants in the dryer. My method's certainly not in line with most people's goals, but I'm a lot less miserable and eat whatever I want, which is nice. Note: "Whatever I want" doesn't mean "anything at all" - you're more likely to catch me eating a pair of steaks or half a chicken than a tub of cheese curls.

I scrolled back through the thread and ITHURTZ told me I ate like a bird. I should have believed him.

Funny thing is, I know people that go to the gym so they can do that. Funny or sad thing is, it actually works lol.

Oh i've definitely had to shorten my belt after going to the gym 3-5 times weekly. Since it's been nice I've been riding the bike alot more though.

weighed in for fun this morning at 233.x.

that's ~8 pounds up from when the competition ended. i think this is where i want to be and maintain so it's time to start reeling in the diet and hitting the gym more consistently.

I'm starting up again next week...

December of 2007, a friend of mine made me his little project. I was 330 pounds, and miserable. He turned me into a runner, and I LOVED it. Got down to about 235 pounds, and ran a total of 7 half marathons. Then I had surgery and couldn't run for 6 weeks...and kept eating like I was running 20-30 miles a week...oops...then more injuries from trying to build mileage too fast, and voila...I'm back up in the 280s, and miserable. I haven't run with any regularity since last August.

Next week the schedule with the kids finally clears up a bit, and it will be easier to make the "me" time I need to get back in to it. I've also been issued a challenge by my brother in law who will pay my entry to run the full marathon at Disneyworld in 2015 if I can get myself there. Challenge accepted.

Don't have the specifics as I haven't weighed yet, but I'm currently around 288. Planning on being below 250 by the end of the summer, 230 by Christmas, and right around 200 by next summer, which is my current goal - between 200 and 220...gonna depend on how I feel when I hit 220.

I'm planning on running the half marathon at the Flying Pig in May, 2014, then maybe the half at the Air Force Marathon in Sept 2014 then dovetail that into training for the full marathon at Disney in January, 2015.

Wow that's motivation! I was at 270 and got down to 220's within a year. I'm striving for 200 now. I just got to eat better and drink less beer on the weekends. Not that I drink alot maybe 1-5 a weekend. Sometimes none. But I like the darker beers. They are higher in calories. Then with alcohol it makes me get the munchies. Bad combo! I got back down to 212 this morning.

It does feel good. I ate a pretty good dinner last night and drank a beer and was worried I was going to gain afterwards. Funny thing is I got up, took a dump, and I weight the same as yesterday to the 10th of a lb. Go working out! I'm going to smoke some meat later today so I better behave when eating that!
