w body choice question



assuming you're not talking about the bonne gxp's, if you're serious about modding i'd suggest something with less weight. if you do mean the gxp's, those have northstar engines in them. you don't wanna try to work on one

they're packed in the engine bay for sure. and there is so much computer-control on them. it would be a nightmare to try to modify

Its just to much hassle.
Ive fixed one and that ****ing thing isnt as simple as the 3800 or the 350 etc its diff.

i meant the 3.8 powered bonne but, after see it close up i hate the dash layout. Also can you put 98 gtp motor into a 2002 gt if so, what parts will or will not pnp?
 
Engine swap is possible. MAP connector is different and missing the connector for the boost control solenoid. Otherwise, plug and play with some changes to the PCM for engine/trans stuff.
 
I just bought my GTP, but I test drove a few of the Bonneville SSEi cars. They are nice, but they have more of a highway cruiser feel to them in my opinion. They are bigger and heavier, but they still have some get up and go to them. At least with the supercharged 3800. The GP's just had a sportier feel to them, stiffer suspension, a bit smaller, etc. I wouldn't have hated the Bonneville, but I think the GP is the more fun of the two to drive.
 


Bonnies can in many cases be the better choice.
No dog bone loose goose engine mount setup.
Automatic rear leveling suspension helps you combat weight transfer, ability to add drag bags to almost 100% eliminate it.

Just those two things alone gave me the ability to beat out W body cars with similar mods. Their front end lifted and spun, mine stayed planted and the car took off. As for the weight.. the Bonne is a couple hundred pounds heavier. Removal of one front seat is a mere 80lb savings.
