• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

valve train noise

Brian will prolly have to come back out anyways so next time he will drag your ass along with him. He'll make you ride b!tch on his bike lol

I told him I'd ride with goggles in a side cart and a machine gun.

But no b1tch.

I still think that pushrod length is iffy.

Well bring your monkey ass over and we will find out. I have a pushrod length checker. Reptile said he'd do some checking as well

pulled a couple rockers today, pushrods are 7.4 (just double checked since i couldnt remember whether they were 7.3 or 7.4) I hand tightened till zero free play then torqued to 25 ft lbs. It took 1 1/4 turns on one and 3/4 turn on the other. In the relaxed state the pushrod will spin with my fingertips but has no up and down play. Its within spec so i guess its ok, I just have a hard time believing the oer lifter is that loud. I guess we will break it in and see what happens.

Hmmm, I had 1.84 Yella Terra's...and they tended to move a smidge, but I never had a pushrod able to spin. Stock lifters though...with stock pushrods.

I talked to john at intense and he said the pushrod should be able to spin in the relaxed state. But the comp lifter likes a tighter tolenance between 0 and 20 thousandths as opposed to some of the others that like between 40 and 60 thousanths.

Hey brand new here, actually from Australia and was googling the comp cam oer lifter noise in the v6s and thought I'd pipe up.

I'm running them with 7.25 pushrods, stattama st4 cam and yt 1.6 rockers, with 0-1/4 preload and they tick bad enough. I don't really care but they aren't silent. I'll chuck up a YouTube link in a tick

I just swapped them for LS7 lifters, i havent had a chance to hear the difference yet because i ran into other issues but hopefully this week it will be back up and running.

Thats pretty much what mine sounded like as well hopefully the LS7s make a difference, from everything ive read and heard from others is stock (LS) lifters are the way to go.

Yeah with my bonnet closed I can't really hear them so I don't mind. And once it starts to spool theres definitely no way I can hear them

I swapped out oer's for regular factory style ones as well, just too much damn noise.Have a brand new box of em with about an hour of runtime under there belt.Gf still says its a sewing machine, but its better than It was.
