• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

Valve cover gaskets

WOW 50 bucks with the sending unit huh? beats 160 from summit for the phantom. thanks

Here's the list of stuff I'd check for mileage stuff.

Air filter
Fuel filter
T-stat
PCV valve
Tire pressure
Tune (if you're able)

Air filter, fuel filter, pcv valve were all replaced a couple months ago. I looked at the air filter a few weeks ago, and it looks fine. The tire pressure was checked a few weeks ago. And the thermostat was replaced today, because the temperature would creep up rather quickly at stoplights. I don't know anyone with a tuner. How well could a tune improve mileage anyway?

I'll have to look into it, but I'm poor so I'm not counting on buying one.

Anyway, is there anything else I can do to improve it? My last tank was 30% highway and I only got 20MPG. I also drive and accelerate slower than I used to.

Did you try resetting your PCM since you did the repair? Something about the engine could different and it hasn't relearned.

No power to the PCM for about 30 minutes will do it. Pulling the PCM fuses is fine if you don't want to lose your radio presets.

For some reason my fans only turn on when I have the air conditioner running. I rarely use the air conditioner, and don't like having to turn it on at stoplights just to keep the car from overheating. What could this be?

Well, I was scanning the car today as I was driving around, and one thing I did notice was that the coolant temp that the car said never matched what the scanner said. So I guess it could be that.
