Used Tires--Tips, Advice?

Hi all, I'm wheel/tire shopping. Found a couple of ads on craigslist that seem promising. The set I really want is off the wheel.

I'm wondering if anyone has any tips, pointers, red-flags, clues, they can share when looking at used tires?

Check for signs of dry rot, uneven wear, punctures, distance to the wear markers inside the tread...
