Two Morimoto projectors one cup...uh...I mean headlight...headlight

:th_beatdeadhorse: ok, cause this feel like what i am doing.

You "CAN NOT" fit the Morimoto h1 mini projectors without cutting the lens. You may be able to do a slightly smaller hole if you dremel it and make it the exact shape of the progector housing. It will not be much smaller though, and using the holesaw takes 30 seconds compared to dremel tool time( 10-15 minutes per lens). Why is this so hard to accept. There are plenty that have tried including myself. I have a DS2 and H1 set. H1 set is going to be for fogs but tried fit in headlights first just to try. As myself and others have stated "it can not be done". I will issue a formal apology if you can prove me wrong. This is for 04+ just like the entire thread has been. Nowhere was earlier years mentioned so i am not sure how you became confused.
No more talking or excuses on why you said what you said, prove it can be done.

I clearly apologized already and clearly stated I missed that you were talking about 04+ and didn't take the time to read the whole thread. What is so hard to understand here????

Very nice work, I see where you're coming from now.:D

Also with a hole that big how do you seal the back of the housing from outside elements?

I will set with quick epoxy just to hold position after aiming. Then i will use some jb weld sticks along with some good rtv silicone. I will also add 4 mounting bolts through the lens once it is held securley and i make sure my cutoff is straight and aimed straight.

glad you see what is needed now. I was getting tired of explaining since i knew what needed to be done. Mabey you can come up with a better way to do this but in order to use a good projector and not some sh**ty piece, this is what must be done.

I did not come up with this idea, I just copied drunkies build and learned as i went.

ok, we are officialy done with this crap... RIGHT?????

I've been sending people to RedDawnGXP to talk about or have retro services completed also.... he may or may not be happy with that...

I'm more than happy to advise people and send pics and suggestions but I don't do retros for people. I don't have time, as you can clearly see it's taking me forever to finish these...will have completed pics soon though.

thanks, all i need is an evening where it is not raining or smowing and temp is above 40. All i need to do is aim them and then do a final permanent seal. Those evenings are hard to come by in PA right now.

Will follow up in the next few days with explanations but for now, PICS:

Output (daytime) pics. I have the "highbeam" projectors aimed higher than the "lowbeam" ones and have them wired independantly of each other. I intend to use the "highbeam" projectors as a driving light and if I really wanna own some *****es I'll run with all four projectors on with the highbeams (cutoff shields lowered) on. There is a slight rotation on the one "highbeam" projector but whatever.

LOWBEAM (Standard headlight beam)

DRIVING LIGHT (projectors in the "highbeam" spot)

Like I said I have the middle projectors aimed higher because I didn't like all four lined up because it seemed pointless spamming the same spot in front of the car with more light, I want light farther down the road just beneath the highbeams.

looks good Reddawn. Can't wait to see night shots. Going to be bright with all 4 on. I had given to thought to pointing a set in the high beam location lower than low beam location and considering them driving lights and they would not be so bad for oncoming traffic. then i could run all 4 at night( we'll see) I may change to that later on but for now only 1 set installed. Your idea may be the way to go though and get more light further down the road when onciming traffis is not a concern

p.s. must be nice having a clean car. I just got another 7 inches of snow last night. My cars will not be clean for another month or so. Unless they never leave the garage.

Yeah man, we've had a week or so of decent weather in the Chicagoland area which is why I'm finally making some progress with these lol.

Damn looks good, How are you holding the projector in on the reflector

I'm using 3 bolts per projector (H1's have 4 bolt holes opposed to only the 2 on the D2S). I got a lot of pics to add to this thread which show all of this and how I sealed the back. Maybe I'll finally get around to doing that write up:th_laugh-lol3:

vdery nice. Bi-xenon Morimoto Mini Stage III Kit (H1) - Complete Retrofit Kits from The Retrofit Source Inc
is this the kit that i need to to this retrofir? just making sure so i know what kind of money ill be getting into to do this.

That kit will work but pricey. i got my projectors for $130 shipped and the H1 bulb/ballast kit for $40 and the relays were $10. So that is $180. Use the money saved and buy an extra set of lens for $100.

Everything was a buy it now on ebay

and what about shipping and warranty?

Just so you know Matt at TRS prefers to sell outside of ebay to avoid ebay and paypal fees. Call him directly or go to his website. His shipping is the same day if it's before 3:30pm eastern standard time. I live an hr from him my hid parts are here next day EVERY time.

Matt will work with you especially if you're a repeat customer, Mori projectors and shrouds run me $95 shipped, Mori bulbs $25 shipped, butyle sealant tape discounted $5 per box and so forth. I think he sells cheap to me cause shipping is dirt since we're so close dunno. Just call him and ask him what's the best prices he can do but at least do the guy a favor and save him the ebay fees.

Also I did want to add that I've used pretty much every type of amp connector H1 bulb and the Morimoto bulbs are above and beyond the quality of any other bulb ( besides D2S bulbs). They run cooler, have a more colorful cutoff, and fit better too.
