twin charged mini road test

Well it seems as though i killed my wideband sensor.... it reads 10.0 no matter what. I used a torch to "clean" it, and attempted to see if i could open air calibrate it. No change. Aeroforce forum seems to have confirmed my suspicions... sht sht sht!

Yes you can just replace the sensor. And yes i am an idiot, my add-a-fuse popped out, hence the funny reading on the wideband. Nothing wrong with it.:th_embarassed: Apparently i shouldnt believe everything on forums either haaaHA!

Re: twin charged mini road test -Update

The road test today was fun. Though im pretty sure the wg isnt opening when its supposed to cuz she gets up to 20+psi LOL. ill be addressing that tomorrow.
I went thru 5 gals of e85 in about a half hour ahhahaa.

This is insane! But it is also what I'd like to do to mine if I have the chance! Then I guess we're both insane in that regard. :P With all of that power, I'm sure the wheels will be spinning like tops from what's coming to them! Haha!

Hm, I wonder, though, would the engine make more power if the turbo fed more compressed air underneath the supercharger into the intake instead of through the supercharger? I read somewhere on a completely different forum that superchargers can only add so much boost, even when a turbo is fitted to the SC's intake end, as opposed to the turbo forcing air through the intake below the SC. Would that make sense?

Nonetheless, I, like many others, am looking forward to seeing this beast rip up some ashphalt. Heheh... Subbed for the awesomely overdone project going on here!

Looks awesome Dan..

And definately agree on a significant other accepting who you are verus trying to change and the relationship having issues. :th_thumbsup-wink:

thanks fellas.
She def pulls hard. and will likely only be a roll race b*tch too LOL

o and i fixed the overboosting issue. was just a loose boost ref line to the wg. It boosts "safely" to 15 now.
Boost controller, vac manifold and exhaust tips came in. Hopefully the exhaust will be built this coming sunday, if my buddy comes thru for me, i am NOT building my exhaust on my back with jackstands hahaha eff that.

I believe you're correct. With a twin charged set up like his I think the supercharger would begin to restrict boost coming out of the turbo top end.

But hell, he's getting 20 psi I don't think he's having that problem.

Just a random thought----I've helped install both a 4-53T and a 6-71T in a pickup and an L800 respectively. While adding a Turbo to an "already" blowered 2-stroke diesel may not be a valid comparison, I did have a conversation with a Screamin' Jimmy owner that had a 12-71TT--The True "Buzzin' Dozen", and he said once turbo boost exceeded blower boost it was just like the blower was along for the ride--no loss, no gain, and a few guys fabbed up some fancy bypass setups on the theory that the supercharger(s) were a bottleneck, but for all the work, there were no measurable gains to be had. Apparently the big Detroits could handle 100+PSI in/out of the charger as long as everything was sealed up adequately and the motor was fitted with BIG injectors. If I remember right the heads could be modified to accept the 92 or even 149 series injectors, both of which were commonly modified to supply way more fuel back when Detroits ruled the Truck Pulls.

Ugh...beating a freaking dead horse with the blower restriction ****...PD blowers are not a restriction in a twincharged setup.
