Jonbobs whipple is obviously the closest to being properly set up vs probably any 3800 on this planet. That being said - he obviously has way too much money into his setup even though some things may have been done overboard.

This whole thread and TVS business across both forums is just... Sigh.

When someone else throws a TVS on their motor that hasnt destroyed their own credibility by trolling and attempting to blow everything out of proportion then maybe Ill pay attention.
 


I'm not looking to re engineer my entire ignition system or motor or whatever.

I'm saying ditch gen3 put gen5 on. Tune with hpt

Ditch gen5 put tvs on. Tune with hpt
Yeah add intercooler. Yeah upgrade
Valve train maybe a cam
But that's what 99% of us are looking for. Something to build with parts already avail.

Of course there is a guy here or there who has money collecting dust
And will do a ground up stroker kit with all the bells and whistles and use a whipple. And I would expect that to produce more

On the other hand unless it makes over 400whp for less than a (used) turbo setup I'd be mildly impressed, I say used because parts you use are not new either so I'd expect the same type of price drop over say buying a brand new turbo kit.

I bet a TVS on that car makes within 5% of what the whipple made... Why do you ZZP guys and ZZP affiliates always compare irrelevant stuff... Like when zoomed said "Highest whp supercharged cobalt is an M62 powered one" What you guys fail to mention is that said cobalt is a stroker with about $15,000 into the setup... he picks up 50-100whp if a TVS get's swapped in place on that engine and you're comparing it to TVS cars with bolt ons!

But keep comparing full out engine builds to guys with next to nothing for mods...

In that line Tengis is doing the very thing he's accusing me of doing, at the same time he's paying attention while saying he's not going to pay attention AND he's misleading the sh*t out of everyone who reads it.

If I can make it there, I am going with an open mind. I have no predisposition toward this setup one way or another. If I see the car on the dyno make the power numbers that SnowFlake is hoping for, then I will be convinced.

I'd like to generally look things over. In the vid with the race, it surprised me that your charger whine didn't scream over everything. PS, I have a 2.5" pulley you can borrow.

I need to get a head count for people who want to run... It's gonna be lame if 20 people show up for a 15 minute dyno session. Ed do you wanna strap your car down?
 
Sadly I will not be doing a dyno run. Come spring time when I have all my parts on I will be interested in doing it.

All the crap that went down with you trying to mislead guys in the past has ruined your credibility. You can play it off anyway you want.

But when you put numbers and times up on the board from your stock regal, then come to find out you swapped to a smaller cobalt pulley and modded rockers, but still call it stock because it has all stock GM parts on it, you get what you deserve in the future.

But I'm in for numbers and hope this makes at least 375whp corrected.
