turbo+e85 compresion ratio?

hey guys been looking around a lil and nothing really solid yet but my current build list is
l67 block/crank
st4 cam
stage 3 zzp heads with turbo valves, PAC 150lb springs, felpro perma-torque headgaskets, arp studs
l26 intake with hv3, stock 00 l67 throttle body
bullseye s259et turbo, tial 38mm wastegate, big a$$ intercooler
front and rear logs, z7 crossover, 3" dp/exhaust with electric dump
e85, #80 injectors, dual fuel pump from lonnies performance
Fingers crossed for 550-600whp with good dyno tune...

I'm sure I'm forgetting somthing too but obviously not coming up with it right now lol. Anyways block and stuff is at machine shop right now and he's REALLY stressing pistons and rods soo... I'm liking the 4340 h-beam rods and je pistons from zzp but am COMPLETELY lost on what I should go with for compression ratio? I know lower compression can handle more boost n all that but I also know that's not ALWAYS the right answer so I was hoping for some input from everybody?..

Also just so no one says you best get yourself a good trans n blahh blahh... I got it!!!! lol, talked with Dave at triple edge(who is amazing to work with by the way) and we built a DIY setup with a 3200 stall converter from precision n that's already built waiting for the engine lol.... Thanks guys!!!!!

Tell your guy at the machine shop to stuff it and use the stock rods and pistons. sounds like a killer setup youve got going here

once we're done I know we're doing a 50/50 "race balance" as he calls it on the rotating assembly, and I AM going to at least need a couple rods because on two of the rods the threads/rod bolt actually stick out of the rod, but it looks like it was like that from gm. Either way that just doesn't sound safe to me with hopes of 550-600whp lol, so I have to replace at least those I'd think?
Think it would be wise to put the arp rod/main bolts too? I heard the rods need to be machined to take the rod bolts that true?

I'm running a stock bottom end and E85. Click on link in sig for full mods list.

I never (knock on wood) had any problems since I bought the car in 2000. I'm pushing around 550 at the wheels. As long as you stay tuned and have no KR, a stock bottom will last.

Im running stock bottom end L32 with cometic .045 gaskets which bumps up compression to almost 8.8:1 supposedly. Running 16 psi boost @17* timing twincharged with no knock on e85 and meth injection

Awesome I just ordered l32 rods from work lol.. Puting stock rod bolts would pry jus be dumb wouldn't it? They will hook up to the stock 00 gtp pistons right?lol

Actually would you stick with the l67 rods with ARP bolts or would you machine the l32 rods? I work for GM so I can cancel the order quick it's w/e lol

l67 rods are probably stronger than l32 rods.

as far as compression goes, I would run 10.5-11.0 or more if I had a choice on a race motor.

the s259 turbo is TINY. Good luck hitting anything over 450whp.

I thought the L32 was the stoutest of the four SII 3800's?

Followed by the 67, 36, then 26.

Holset's are dirt cheap...and you can make plenty of power with them...not to mention the abuse they can take. IIRC, would just need a different flange for the hot side.

Really? The turbos rated to 600 so i figured 550whp was possible. What bout a precision 6262? That kinda sucks i just got a 3" dp from zzp for the z7 crossover n turbo lol

Kool so I'll keep the l32 rods and machine them for the ARP's it sounds like then lol.

Aside from just holset(cuz they make a **** ton of turbos lol) can y'all give me some good recommendations for turbos? I've really liked the 6262 n 6264 but a little input from some grand prix people would be kinda nice since all that's round me is Hondas n a few cobalt guys I just met since I jus got a 06 SS lol

67mm would be a good 600-640whp range. a strong billet 62mm is going to stick you at most in the mid to high 500s. I was thinking about going to a billet 67 from a cast 67 but realized the exhaust side was the biggest issue on e85.

Ok so did some looking around and I'm understanding what your talking about now.. Outta curiosity what turbo/AR was you looking at? I just seen the 6766 with the T3 flange .82 AR and 3" v-band... You thinkin that would be to small still? I guess now my concern is the z7 crossover with T3 flange..will that kill it too or is the main concern just getting the gasses out?
