Trunk Leak

OK, this has gone on for a while and i have had enough!!, some how, some way water gets in my truck where my spare sits. looking at the weather stripping around the trunk its fine, no sign of failure, the carpet in the trunk itself appears to be dry, however when i take the top carpet off, there is water on the black tire cover, and the underside of the carpet, when i take the plastic cover off, the underside is dripping with water and the tire/rim are coverd, once those are removed the fabric inside is soaked, i will dry it all up, lysol, let stand dry, yet the next time im in there same thing, WHAT GIVES? lol

I had the same problem and was wondering where it was coming from. I figured out it was coming in through where the bolts that hold the spoiler on. I think there is 4 of them just open your trunk and look. I made sure they were all dry then i soaked the trunk down for a minute then feel the four bolts to see which one is wet and letting the water in. I just took the nut off one that was wet and put alot of silicone around the edge of the bolt and on the back of the nut (which has a washer attached to it) and tighten it back down, hasn't leaked in 6 months.

awesome, thanks for the info, with the trunks weather stripping all there im gonna go with that, now we just need a day where there is NO RAIN!!! in NY so i can let the trunk dry out and i can silicone it up, thanks man!

Mine was leaking........found that gasket between spoiler and trunk lid was missing......siliconed all four bolt spoiler areas and so far, so good.......
