I took my car too a shop because my transmission was shifting really hard and making a loud screeching noise every time i pressed on the gas the trannmission guy pulled a code sayin 1811 i needed another transmission or mines rebuilt 1600 bucks. I need some expertise on if the guy is tring to rip me off if i even need to have to have my transmission replaced and if it is the case is 1600 a pretty good deal to have it fixed?

try and google morad parts company... thats real steep for a tranny ed will get you a nice tranny and since your in ohio... you can probably take it up to cleveland and have them install it most likelly with a warrenty for less than 1600... hes rippin you off good luck man

morad parts company heard of them before they sell engines too i wonder if they can swap my l36 to the l67 engine too while therye at it.

they will swap them out too dont get me wrong.. it will cost you i think they want close to 700 for the swap of engine and tranny if i remember correctly

Yeah thats true i know they going to charge the mess out of me for the installation tho i dont know how to drop a tranny in my prix triple edge do have pretty good prices. I went on morad i didnt see any gtp engines tho im sure they would of had some.

Dave will deff hook you up. lots of good knowledge, and very resonable for all the stuff he does to the trannies he sells.

Is your car shifting hard all the time or does it take it a little while to start doing it? Mine had the 1811 code and all I needed was a pressure solenoid and now it shifts smooth as butter. Did they do a pressure test?

Oh ok yeah it takes a lil while to start shifting hard the mechanic did pull a 1811 code but he didnt do a pressure test he just scanned it with his scanner and said i need a new tranny.

I would take it to another shop which you should generally do always. Some shops jump at the idea of throwing a new tranny in it for the $$$. Like I said mine pulled that code and was the pressure solenoid.

Yeah i think that could be the case for mines as well i want to upgrade the transmission tho add A few upgrades any ideas?

trannyman will build u a race tranny like no other 3800 has... if my tranny goes again, i'm making a special trip to IN just to see dave. even if I have to U-haul it there.

No not yet but i planning on doin some kind of mods to the engine at the same time my transmission gets swapped just dont know what to do yet? indianna next door to me i wouldnt mind making a trip to c what the tranny man has to offer.

GO FOR IT... im gonna attempt to make the ride up there @ tax time.... if i cant make it there im definitely gonna get one shipped to me.

Man i took it to aamco transmissions and they told me my cv boot had leaked all my transmission fluid and my passenger side axle was out and leaking my transmission fluid so they filled it up for me and my car worked fine for like 25 mins then started jerking really hard again after so back to square 1.
