Track times for the Comp G

NR92

today i went to tri-state raceway in eastern iowa, wasnt unhappy with my runs but know i can do better,
ran a 14.3 @ 97 with half a second reaction time and 2.4 second 60 foot time,
Also i met up with Hunter or Fisher580 on here with his 01 gtp, he has headers, ported gen 3, 3.4 pulley as well as a box tune, we got one good run together down the track where he came in at a 14.379 at 94.99mph and i came in at 14.489 @97.05mph, i think my i need to work on my reaction time as well as getting my 60s times under 2 seconds, also while i was waiting in line i noticed my car developed a inconsistent idle which i think might be a minor but random misfire this as well as i think im getting some kr and i need to meet up with my tuner again to get it scanned/adjusted
i really think my car is capable of mid 13s, should be able to get a video and a few pics up here soon

Reaction time has nothing to do with getting a better time. The clock isn't triggered until the car physically moves so you could have sat there for five minutes and would have ran the same time. The 60ft on the hand.....

every .1 off the 60' is worth .15 -.20 off the ET.

Had you nailed a 2.2 60' you would be down to a 13.9-14.0 ET.

i was being a ***** and babying the throttle to keep from smoking my tires, i have like 1200 bucks worth of rubber i rather not have to replace, i get some tires im not worried about and i figure i will push a little harder to be right before the breaking the tires loose point

yea, i knew these cars would spin but didnt realize the huge effect it had on times, im gonna find some better suited tires and try this again in the spring

sorry not trying to take over your thread but does anyone know what a 5.7 gto should be running? seen one running, let me re say that, i ran against one running 14.1 @ 99. i could be wrong but that seems kind of slow . . .

Not really, a sloppy start would be right on cue for a 14.1 on a GTO. The 04 was the first of the new GTOs and only year for the 5.7L LS1 and the body was substantially heavier than the older Camaros which would only trap mid 13s so figure stock drivetrain and a sloppy start and/or bad weather conditions and a 14.1 would be about right. Needs a driver mod and some bolt-ons.

yeah that guy seamed slow, dont forget the 99-04 mustang gt with exhaust and intake on slicks that ran a 14.6 LOL

And if you pulley up you may want to change your style plug heat range along with a tune. Your 60ft is what really skunked ya.

ok seriously, i was kinda thinking my 3.29 gears, my street tune and that just said you didnt do a whole lot to port your gen 3 also when you were running 5-7kr how come i didnt pull hard/harder on your out of the gate, i dont have a scan gauge but i was street tuned with one and a wideband... i think i have kr...
