so i read the sticky, didnt help much. ive always just gotten the stock size for replacement, but im thinking of going a bit wider. all on the stock 16's.

so stock is 225/60/16

is 245/55/16 the same thing, just a bit wider? i cant for the life of me figure out what all the dimensions and what not are. i went to an online tire calculator and it comes out pretty damn close to what the stock is, but i still dont know if it's actually wider?

is the Section Width the actual width of the tire? and is the Rim Width Range gunna be a problem on the stock 16s?

terrible with numbers any help would be GREAT

245's are too wide for stock wheel.

stock wheels are 6.5" wide. Note under the 245 side it says to use a 7-9" wide wheel.

yes. and yes, stock rims are 6.5" wide.

what site did you take the tables from?

a) you can run 245s on a wheel that is 6.5" wide. done it. drove it hard.

b) you are gonna want to get 245/50/16. slightly smaller sidewall, but the tire size is way easier to find. this is the size i ran.

c) yes, section width is the actual width of the tire. the same size tire from different companies can vary in actual width pretty drastically.

Those tables look to be from 1010tires.com They have a great tire size calculator.

As for running 245s on a 7" rim, that's probably as high as you can reasonably go, without going to the extremes that I've seen some auto-x cars do.

255 is as wide as you want to go on stock rims.

but I wouldnt use them for the street, only for DRs at the track. Just my opinion.
