245 45 17 theyre sumitomo all season performace tires for only 66 bucks a piece!!! what is wrong with these tires why so cheap lol if theyre decent i may pick some up =]:th_winking:

Why don't you look at the reviews on tire rack?

x2^

Btw you do know that the ones for $66.00 are summer tires right? If you drove around on them when the pavement is colder they would wear like warm chocolate fudge, and you would be buying another set in a couple of months.

If you are looking for a good year tire in that same brand. This one might work for ya.

Sumitomo HTR+

I went with 245/40/17 thinking you are going with your Billits. I personally run these on my Torque stars as my "winter rims/tires"

General Altimax HP

Just remember when you go to cheap, you get a cheap product in the end. Just like good brakes, you want good tires to go along with that. You might wind up spending a bit more, but to have the confidence in your tires when driving in whatever condition only helps to make you feel more secure.

Just my thought on that :)

the sumitomo htr+ looks like a good winter tire. the general altimax look more like a summer tire correct?

Well the General I selected is actually a good all season tire, but it did rate better for winter driving. And after the bigger snows we actually got in St. Louis this season, I am happy I made the choice for these. Now I wont be driving them in the summer months, my "summer" rims will be back on the car.

But when the weather has been good, they have handled more than adequately to handle "spirited" driving. They are not the highest speed rated tire, but I am not driving around going 120+mph anyways ;)

This what some other people say about them too...

And here are the specs for them.

I would not be afraid to recommend to anyone wanting a good performing tire, in both good driving conditions and less than stellar conditions too.

Look at the bridgestone Potenza G019. I have the predecessor model, the G009 on both the 98 and the 01 GTs and they run great:

The are Hi-Performance All Season tires, great handling, good in rain/snow, decent wearing tire also. $129 in the 245/45/17 size.

From the Tire Rack tests:

I have those cheap Sunitomo tires on my bullitts and they are fine. Very nice tire for what you pay.

We just got 6 inched of snow here in Wi.. I was very pleased with how the were in the snow. Not bad for a UltrtaHiPerf tire in 6" of snow.
