Throttle body in an 08

I've got an 08 Grand Prix with the 3.8 V-6. I'm wanting to do just a little (yeah right) bit of performance modification, and my question is: Does the computer allow the throttle body to open up 100%? Any and all help would be very much appriciated.
 


yes, the PCM allows 100% throttle body and if it doesnt it allows 99% of it. dotn worry about that.

how much money do you have and how fast do you want to go?
 
well........you could port and polish the stocker or upgrade to the N* or bigger if you prefer............fwiw

Actually the TB's in the 4 + are electronic. Not like our 97-03's. And unfortunalty ther is no room to improve on the porting or anything on the 04+ TB's. The best you can do on those is a polish job. And that will not be much of a gain at all.
 
It's no big deal. That's what we are here for. To learn. It would be nice if they had some room for porting like the 97-03 models do. But unfortunatly they don't. I guess you could say it's an improvement? LOL
 


Is it a possibility to bolt up and run a LS4 Electronic TB setup on the 3800 '04+ cars? I think those TB's are bigger...just not sure...and if so...think it would be worth the money to R&D something like that Parker?
 
Possibly. Unfortunaly I know nothing about the LS4's though. I'm sure it's a possibility though as long as an adapter harness could be made.
 
Sure. Not a problem. I think a newly designed TB that would allow use of the TB control box on the 04+'s would be a better alternative.


We're doing all we can to offer you guy's some new products. We have a list full and unfortunatly they usually come one at a time.
 


no rush.. no worries i would rather have a good product than a rushed one... just make sure you post when you got something good i like what you do for the community and believe me, whenever i need something and if you have it... you have my business
 
Well Parker...seems to me it looks pretty do able...with a little help from ol google I was able to pull this up.

The 1st pic is of the stock Cobalt SS (who upgrade to the LS4 TB when modding like we do LS1's and N*'s)...same bolt pattern and all...

Then here is a '04+ L32 TB...looks pretty puny compared to the LS4...

Seems like they did a pretty solid 4 bolt pattern on all of them too...which makes me wonder as I type this...the '06 LS2 GTO's were Electronic controlled throttle too...and...what do you know...same 4 bolt pattern. http://www.panteraefi.com/images/90MMSM150.jpg
