Thinking About Retrofitting

Ok. I have been searching and I think I want to try my hand at retrofitting. Are these good projectors to use? And it says to only use H1 35w. Is this true? Or are there better projectors to use? And is DDM a good place to get HID's? On their site they asked if I wanted a harness, error eliminator, adapter cables, or mounting brackets. Do I need all of them? Projector link ---> H1 Morimoto Bixenon Projectors HID LHD Mini w/Shrouds | eBay

Go to the retrofit source and buy the Mori Mini's H1 there.

I prefer VVME over ddm or anything else. Just get 6k's with a relay harness. And some new headlight housings or just use your old ones.

IF you read up on it, modifing the case and shroud will need to be done.

I also highly recommend TRS. Take some time and search retrofits and Mini H1s on the forum here, you'll find tons of info and you'll be way better prepared for what a retrofit entails.

If you do a retrofit your headlights are going to look great and you'll have awesome output, don't take a step backward and put in some blue 6000K or 8000K bulbs. Every OEM HID projector uses 4300K and they look good, stick with 5000K or below :)

As for the eBay classified from LightWerkz, they do a good job. The only concern I would have would be the contents in the "various adapters" bag. I think they would, but hope that the crush ring is in there with the stuff. Now like stated before, The Retrofit Source is a super great place. Matt and his team are superb in customer service, everything is prompt, and always there for support.

This is what you would be looking at from TRS, Bi-xenon: Morimoto Mini H1 4.1 - HID Projectors from The Retrofit Source Inc

As for the HIDs, I actually just bought the complete set from TRS: Bi-xenon Morimoto Mini Stage III Kit (H1) - Complete Retrofit Kits from The Retrofit Source Inc

The price is a little more steep as the Morimoto HIDs are a lot better build quality than say eBay or other cheap HIDs. If you have the spare coin, I would encourage to go for the complete kit.

Or you could go with either VVME or DDM, I prefer VVME but have heard both sides to both companies. So it's really up to you.

lightwerkz does good work. a lot of subaru guys send out their headlights for them to modify. however, they'll do anything.

note: expensive, though.
