Thermostat

I'm having issues with my engine running hot. The temp light has only came on a handful of times and I want to change my thermostat.
How easy is it to change it or should I just ante up the money and get a mechanic to do it?
I'm not going to change it myself, but I was planning on getting a friend to do it. But before I even ask, I'd like to know how hard it would be.
I have a '97 Grand Prix GT with a 3.8L V6 engine.

2 bolts, take old one out, install new one, then bleed coolant system of air.

very easy, but be careful to move the lil plastic lines as my buddy found out on his(he doesnt think thru all the time) snapped one during bolt removal...
