Probably not without a spacer, the rears have a 55mm offset, and the fronts are 40mm. I'll let somebody with the V brakes chime in to be sure though.

Just go with 4 piston fronts. And upgrade the rears. Not sure if the riv uses wbody **** but i would recomend stock rears with a front this strong

I've never heard of anybody sticking the rears on. Got a thread for it?

The GPs use a completely different rear suspension than the Rivis. I don't even think the hubs are interchangeable.

okay, here's the deal with the 6 piston brembos. they bolt directly onto my car and still fit under the stock (18x8.5 +42mm) wheels.

therefore they should go on in the exact same fashion as the 4 piston brakes, but you're going to want to make sure you have clearance for the wheels depending upon spoke design.

do it. don't listen to these naysayers.

Yeah, but I have a set of 4 rear GXP 18s so I'll probably need to get a spacer to clear them. What kind of rear brakes are you running with the 6 pistons, just stocks? I would think the 6 pistons would completely overpower the small, single piston rears.
 
i'm referring to my CTS-V (2005) so i already have the 4 piston brembos everyone is running. the rear brakes from my gen to the current generation are the same, but probably painted a different color.

if 4 piston brembos fit under the wheels i would THINK the 6 pistons would, too. however, you can't quote me on that. it's a guess.

Don't the C6 Z06 rear calipers bolt directly up to the C5 rear brackets, which would subsequently mean that they would bolt directly up to GP brackets? Food for thought?

That way you all don't need to source brackets for the CTS-V rears.....

The second gen CTS-Vs have slightly different rear calipers. They will still bolt up the same as first gens, but they have notches on either side of the mounting tabs to clear the dust shield on the second gens.
 
i know the dust shield are a little different. i am going to have to trim mine to run the rear rotors when i 5 lug swap. ;)

Nope, they're discs. The only known upgrade is to swap out the caliper brackets and rotors with the ones off a DeVille DTS/SeVille STS. Rotor size goes from ~11" to 11.7". I already swapped out all the front stuff for F-bodys (more on that here: http://rivperformance.editboard.com...-front-suspension-swap-w-f-body-brakes#177823 ).

The more and more I get email subscriptions to this thread. The more I want to do it. I just through on some brand new C5 Z06 calipers last year but these huge V brakes would look so sick behind my rims. The only thing stopping me is I have some nice 16" weld prostars for the track which to be honest not sure if I will ever go back.. UUMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM
