The LS1 was built by the hand of God,.....

Now, if I were to go LS1, I'd definitely go with the WS6. There is something beautiful about it. I would have bought one after the GP if it weren't for the beyond crappy interior GM designed. I'm glad they came around, seems like all their cars after 04 were redesigned for the better on the interior. Just a shame it came too late.

when you choose a car like a termi or ls1, who cares about interior or mpg for that matter. as long as its solid with a seat, shifter, steering, and pedals thats all i need. fact is their both equal. one is cheaper to buy the the other is cheaper to get better power. i guess what im sayin is either one is capable of 10s with the same budget. what makes the ls1 so good is the versatility. when you want to put a v8 in something you opt for the ls1.

i love f bodys. sure the cobra is more powerful stock vs. stock. but the money the fbody guy saved buying the firebird formula would, if put to mods, make it just as fast if not faster. $/hp definetly backs the fbody. and if you ask me the fbody is so much more attractive.

you cant argue with that

Yep. I had maybe $11,500 in my Formula and dyno'd 373rwhp and 375rwtq with a small cam, Long tubes, dumped exhaust, and supporting mods.

Edit. That's including the price of the car.

I've never really liked the feel of the F-body cars, but I love the LSX motors. I'd have to go with a GTO or G8 if I had an option. Termi's are awesome cars, too, and I like the way they handle with the IRS. Can we just throw an LSX in a Mustang and call it a day?

I agree it looks hot on the outside...its when you step inside I have a problem. And thats where I spend most of my time, inside driving the car.

My .02 (as a member of Stangnet, and several other unmentionables of Fordness) is that Ford nuthuggers tend to pick the fights- IE, come onto LS1tech, etc, telling how great the Modulars are, how they once owned an LS, blah blah... Fine, great, dandy. Never once have I gone to a Ford site trying that crap- Why? It's stupid. I don't like them, so why post smack there? I sell parts for everything, so I am a registered user, and post regarding parts, etc.

The Termis aren't a damn bit better, they're just different. Each platform has it's strengths, and weaknesses. The Stock for stock argument isn't valid, as it's like trying to find a stock Fox 5.0 these days- They're a virtual Unicorn. That said, I buy what I like, which is GM stuff. The Ford guys (and everybody else, for that matter) needs to STFU and quit trying to convince the world, along with themselves, that they made the right decision by whatever platform they went with. Just enjoy what you have, and get on with your life.

That said-

Amen OP, I'm a GM guy normally and went Terminator. I couldn't deny the pros outweighing the cons in comparison against a LS1 Fbody, C5 vette, or 05/06 GTO. Atleast for what was important to me. It's a sick platform, fully forged to start with, and the whine is music to my ears. My friend has a magnacharged GTO and the only thing I might envy would be his seats. Real car guys respect great cars, regardless of brand.

Edit: I am jealous of the mpg you can knock down with a LS1.

Amen to that last line.

im proud to say that im glad this thread has become a very mature and informative topic about 2 rivals and that there really are car enthusiasts that appreciate all aspects of the sport rather than spat immature ricer comments.

I WAS in agreement til the last line.... BAM HIMM!!!!!

Now... I am by nature an F-Body fanatic... Love them, the way they drive, the power, bolt-on dream, Fuel Efficiency on the highway with 400+ hp *providing you can control your foot*

Now that being said, I would give my right nut for a 03/04 Cobra. Love the chargers, the whine, the body style, ride, all of it. Ive rolled with a group of f-bodies for years and we all agree that a friends mystic cobra is the nicest sounding stang in the area. we all love them and think that the design should have been stolen by gm along time ago. The blue circle is a curse and that particular car shouldn't have to deal with it. (just our opinion, and it only applies to the Cobras/Termi's... GT's can stuff it :th_sick1:

PS: As far as comparing stock to stock, theres too many variables to compare, the price range for a cobra is too high for a SS maro, but too low on the GTs side. Supercharged vs NA, stock vs modded comparisons, the options are endless. More than anything you'd need to compare hp vs hp counting for $$$ vs $$$. You'd really have to compare a 03/04 Cobra to a 03/04 corvette to get price about the same, but then its still F/I vs N/A but the HP is going to be comparable still... tho we all know if it was a perfect world and it all worked out, the debates wouldn't have been going on thus far. So I will leave it with, test drive them all and pick what you can afford and enjoy the most, tell the haters to STFU you bought what you wanted and your happy

Everyone has their own thing...and like said...people are gonna mod what they wanna mod and be thick headed and defensive about what they bought...just like said 17 year old who drives a D16 Honda with bolt-ons that claims it runs 12's or something. I respect both platforms because they are stupid fun. Auto or not...crappy interior or not...they are fast...and fast is what MOST people go for...and sacrifice comfort or MPG's to do so. A good comparo would be my car...it goes fast...it'll run down LS1's and nose on Cobra's...been there...done that. But my car...is far from reliable...worth nothing AND isn't comfortable. I sacrificed basically everything to make my car fast. It shakes, its loud, its low and rides DECENT...but rough, and I can't have a damn drink in my cup holder and go more than 1/2 throttle before it falls out and spills everywhere.

I don't think it is really a choice for people here...given the option...I think everyone here would trade off their WBody or whatever vehicle they own for either one...and if they don't like it...then take it and sell it and get another car they like...since the resale value on a Cobra is pretty damn good.

Just my 2 cents boss.

He said VQ35 matt lol VQ37 would be a 370Z or a G37

Actually...the VQ37 came in the later model 350Z. The 370Z got a updated and more potent version that was in the 350.

Look at the 03-04 Cobra, Gm stopped the F body after 02. Granted they make the Camaro again. I believe Ford made an excellent job capitalizing on GMs mistake they made in 02! Now look where we are today. Ford never needed a bailout and is hands down the best domestic automaker. Oh and GM has nothing on the Mach 1, Bullit, GT 500, Boss, Corba, ect. Also Saleen and Roush even though their not technically OEM. Ford simply does a much better job marketing cars! Sure GM has the Z28 and SS big whoop IMO. And bang for the buck mustang? Ill take a 98 SN-95 Corba and a healthy dose of cheap aftermarket parts available. Those Cobras look great too!! :th_thumb-up:

Just a FYI...the 94-98 Mustang was the slowest Stang ever. And...the ugliest. And...its all personaly preference. GM has tons of aftermarket support...and they also have the Lingenfelter and ZL packages for the Camaro from the factory. Also...Ford NEEDS those packages to market the car better than the GM counterpart. Just look at the Z06 and ZR1...factory equipped and lay smackdowns to the equally expensive Super Snake...even in its 750 horsepower platform...its a fat pig...like the Camaro.

Also...the Mach 1 was a fail. Proven there...and it was basically no faster than a 4.6 mod motor powered GT...which is a 14's car by most drivers...and 14's aren't fast.
