The Last Indian

Nice clean GP! Is that a chin spoiler on top of an SD lip or is it all 1 piece? Also, is that a true MPD F1 hood or the all fiberglass version?

Thanks! Yes it is an original MPD F1, I knew Eric (Peter’s) & we had talked many times. I knew what I wanted to build when I bought the GP new in 2000. I could have gone the whole route of his MPD F1, but I just wanted the hood. I knew about the SD lip & liked the way it changed the entire front nose, but what I didn’t like was how it attached & the fact that up close it looked amateurish with its fit. So I purchased a new OEM front cover from Pontiac & the SD lip from Kaminari Aerodynamics. Then made a one piece assembly. Below that is a custom made front splitter with air foil tips that help induce the ram air effect at the left SD lip inlet the feeds the intake plenum in my application. I’m an old muscle car guy. So what you see here is just a tiny portion of what’s been done.

That's cool, another MPD hood still around. I lucked into my MPD hood for mine from a member in Kansas and had it painted for my 2000 GT. I have an NOS SD lip here but never installed it. Wasn't quite sure I wanted to do all the work it takes to blend it in properly so I still have it. Once I lowered it on Eibachs I decided against it since I can scrape on certain inclines/bumps and figured it would just get torn up.

I do have a Gen I SLP spoiler on ther rear tho so it looks ok with the MPD hood. My paint isn't near as clean as yours (clear is dying on the upper portions in the rear) but for a 26yr. old DD GP with 517K on it, it still shines up pretty good.

Yes, the Indian is exceptionally clean. Only 40k on it. Never saw a winter. Always in a garage that has no windows. There’s a back story to the car that started the whole thing. When I get some time I’ll post up in the members rides section the story & the build. Something I doubt most have not likely seen before.

I would say for what I can see your GP looks good. Especially with 517k on it. Pretty much restorable I would think if that would be a choice.

The weakest link in the whole W-body ll is the 4t65e tranny! Not so much in durability or zero to 60 performance, but in upper band performance, like a kick down at 70! Ya not happening. If I had the MH7 (6t45) that’s in my lacrosse in the Indian the car would be another level of killer.
