The Grandma Wagon (New Intake Mani)

Re: The Grandma Wagon (New Aerodynamics!)

Nice.

Well I got a bike now (2001 Katana 750) that insurance is super cheap on, and gas is even cheaper.

Soooo....I should (theoretically) be getting some things done to the wagon.

Re: The Grandma Wagon (New Aerodynamics!)

to Dieselsmoke, I own Shammoo. It's no longer on the West Coast. It left Washington and went to Boise Idaho for a few years, I spotted it on Ebay and bought it Seven years ago. It was shipped to Rochester NY. I'm sending you a PM.

Here's proof of my owner ship so You know this is not a spam event. This one's from last year at Watkins Glen with a number of other wagons. You can see the plate on this one.

Re: The Grandma Wagon (New Aerodynamics!)

Since we are showing off wagons. My buddy has a 91 model, Impala SS Clone. 3/4 drop... it doesn't look that low, but it really is.... frame only has a couple inches before it hits and he scrapes on everything with the back end.

He got into a fender bender with a mustang a while back and had to order a new bumper. Most are still available but low in supply and mostly fiberglass. If you like the smoothy style like his let me know and I will get the info, he got in touch with the guy that manufactures them and he still had some of the poly-urethane smoothies still. Buddy got it at a discounted price and shipped directly to him, said it was folded over onto itself and shoved in a box, laid it out for a few days and its perfect.

If you get the extra, also get a rear roll pan, the rear factory bumper is hideous on them and a roll pan that is flush really sets the car.

Re: The Grandma Wagon (New Aerodynamics!)

Yeah, I do love the smoothy front and the roll pan, though the factory rear bumper makes such a good standing platform to help see over traffic when I-95 is a parking lot.

Plans currently are, in order of priority:

Fix the oil filter adapter leak/oil cooler line seals
New shocks and lowering springs
Ford Crown Vic Rear sway bar (no rear sway bar came on these wagons)
Satin black paint
Tint...cause damn it needs it

Just a little update, the intake manifold had a small leak on the back side near the EGR (common issue, the EGR heats the RTV up and causes it to dry and crack, and eventually fail.) So I replaced it with a spare I had laying around that I prettied up a little.

Lol, If I had the money to do all the body work, shave everything, and get a professional paint job, that's the color I would.

But, since Im cheap, Satin black rustoleum it is!

On a side note, the MAF ends and alternator are getting painted the same copper color. Also, the coolant tank, and washer fluid tank need to be painted black.
