• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

The Go Kart from hell

Hard Tops are expensive, but nice. Hard to find without dropping a ton on a new one.

Nice part is you can keep the soft top and still use a hard top and both clear the bars.

LOL Good luck finding one at that price. With all working parts and in good shape I never see them below $1000. That's just for basic fiberglass, the CF ones are more. I was always looking for one for mine but they are just so much, and you can't take it off if the mood arises, you have to get back home, and pull it off and put it on a stand or support somewhere so it doesn't get broken.

I wanted one for the look in the cold months, but half the time unless it was snowing or raining I still had the top off. Kept a soft thick blankey behind the seat for girls, crank up the heat and take the top off. Roll the windows up about halfway, raise the wind deflector and you never felt the cold. Had alot of fun in that car.

lol windblocker, the interior was pretty gutted when i got the car. i didnt help the matter haha.

hardtop isnt a huge priority atm, if i find one cool ill buy it.

Mine was an 01 SE with the factory windblocker thing. I really enjoyed it for a while, but finally pulled it out. Could be customized to fit in-between the bars if you so wanted, but most people discard them first thing. Gets in the way sometimes.

Looked like this one, top edge folded down, net was useless and getting saggy from previous owner actually using it. Eventually I found that sweet spot to put the windows to get little to no air in with the car down and pulled it.

it was a nice day so i rolled around with the top down. i got some funny looks because of the bar haha.

also racing beat sway bars and links ordered, to be installed with coilovers.

and i picked up a ford 8.8 rear diff for future swap.

I dailied mine through our winters, but our winters are like your fall. The car saw snow and ice maybe a dozen times. I only got stuck once. A big hill by the local Walmart, stopped at the red light and sunk a little, I had to get a guy to help push the car sideways while I rolled the throttle, it got a little more sideways than I wanted and so I went back down the hill in the other lane and found a different way out. Car spent more time sideways than it did straight. lol

there was always a snow mound in front of my works parking lot. i would rip the e brake and kick it sideways through the drift every morning haha

Ripped the rusted tow hooks off and made some nice subtle ones for the car.

Fixed a stuck rear caliper and installed EBC red stuff pads all around with new rotors.

Miata's are unibody, and stronger welds won't really stiffen the chassis. You want stiffer, put in a cage and do it right.
