Re: The G8 - Post #27

Little bit as changed, not much ;) What isn't pictured seeing as I used an old picture for the rims, the arrowhead is back on the nose.

G8's Dyno Run... (Not Dependable Due to Operator Error) - Won't pull the pics due to the conversation, but don't rely on the numbers or sheet, please.

Vector 93 Octane ECM/TCM Tune
Volant CAI with Amsoil Filter
American Racing Headers 1-3/4" catback
Magnaflow Axle-Back Exhaust (Subject to change, it runs a little high pitch for my taste, but it works for now)

I also ordered to tags for it that are equivalent to Australian V8, no point in hiding it, it's certainly not a sleeper anymore.

G8's Dyno run today - will post numbers soon. | Facebook

G8's Dyno Run...

From 271rwhp/27rwtq to what you see now... With a little over $2k invested, yeah I'll take that ;)

...

27rwtq to 450~rwtq... for 2K... nice upgrade :th_mischievious:

J/K J/K Very nice numbers, tho I will agree with blue nick, they do seem high for basically intake, exhaust, and a full dyno tune.

Video?

Re: The G8 - Post #41

Well, the tune was a gift so I can't really count that in finances ;)

The video link is right above the dyno sheets, it's via FB and it should grant access to everyone, let me know if it gives you a problem.

Ran it 3rd for the dyno if I remember his remark correctly.

Re: The G8 - Post #41

So Google states most of the 6.0 GTs tend to pull 290-310rwhp on the dyno stock, with intake/exhaust & tunes they usually go 350-375rwhp. So a 420+ is quite high... unless you have toys you're not telling us about? :th_scratchhead:

I could see 420+ *crank* hp... but not at the wheels

Re: The G8 - Post #41

Nope, not hiding anything. No reason the numbers should be lying, especially after three consistent runs. I don't know what to say to be honest, just showing what I got. Everything y'all see is what I got from the guy himself.

ETP: This is the same facility I had issues with it taking numbers from the original run MONTHS ago, so it is possible the dyno was defective. Will be taking it down the 1/8 this Thursday. Will post track numbers for you guys as well ;)

First vehicle I've ever modified so frankly not sure what to expect. I haven't found someone with the same stuff I have to get a baseline on numbers. I'm not going to say I know something when I in fact don't lol. So I'm a bit confused as are you guys apparently.

Re: The G8 - Post #41

I'm just saying it's probably operator error, not the consistancy of the car.

It's probably making a solid 350RWHP though, I'm sure.

Re: The G8 - Post #41

Dyno sheet is posted unlike many other people who claim numbers without backing it up..

tis true that it shouldn't create THAT much.. but still maybe it is..

Re: The G8 - Post #41

^ Most likely Operator Error. Mustang dyno's can read kinda high too from what I've heard, but that is just crazy for what you have.

Not calling you a liar or any insults or anything, for realz. Just too much time spent with 5.7s and 6.0s and friends modding them to see those numbers on a basic bolt-on car. Altho, if it is completely accurate, that is a OMGWTFLSBBQ motor and I want it!

Re: The G8 - Post #41

That is the wierdest dyno sheet ive ever seen. If that time is in seconds on the bottom it kinda looks like he downshifted on the dyno to get those numbers or something. If it is indeed seconds, then it was within .4 seconds where the big spike is. Is it the same dyno you were on the first time? Not trying to crap on your thread just trying to get to the bottom of it like everyone else.

Re: The G8 - Post #41

No worries, I didn't think you guys were calling me a liar, I was just confused because I'm still learning a lot of the performance modifying aspect and when it rose that the numbers were wrong... I just got confused as to what was the root of the problem. It seemed like a significant increase in HP/Torque for "simple" mods, but it certainly would've justified spending $1.8k on headers lol!! Shame Superchargers are so expensive ;)

Oh man im so jelly, G8s been on my mind forever! Nice rides lil lady, correct dyno numbers or not love the rides.

Thank you! :)

It is the place I tried to take it the first time and it wouldn't record the numbers.

It has boiled down that it was operator error, the results are supposedly pushing 20% additional because the guy ran it in 3rd, it's supposed to be ran in 4th and apparently he was clueless about it.

Goes to 1/8 tomorrow, will shed some time, but considering the dyno was inaccurate... Oh well, learn something new every day, just sometimes in a way you'd rather not :/

Re: The G8 - Post #41

Imma see how these 20% corrections look...

1st pull: 337.12 RWHP / 361.28 RWTQ

2nd pull: 339.04 RWHP / 356.0 RWTQ

3rd pull: 338.56 RWHP / 357.76 RWTQ

Now that I believe 100% Going from 271 RWHP and 270 RWTQ...

With max power output being: 339.04/361.28...not too shabby...

So that's about a solid 60-70 RWHP/RWTQ gain across the board.

Winning.

:)

Re: The G8 - Post #41

G8 went to its "2nd" show if you will.

Was the all GM Car Show in Rockville, MD. It was a little light this year all around. Was competing against at least 6 other vehicles in my class. Two tied for 3rd, 2nd, and then yours truly got "1st in Class."

The car got plenty of attention over the span of the day, it certainly was enjoyable to take this car to a show and not receive flak for it being so "new." Instead I was met with very hospitable people, that were intrigued in the car, wanted to know more and asked about it. Several loved it and expressed this love to me lol. One guy was absolutely enthralled with it and couldn't get over how much he loved the G8's and how mine was done over and such. He didn't hesitate to remind me his love for the car nearly every time I passed him on the grounds.

This was a peer judged show and originally I was skeptic to even bother to take the G8 being a peer judged show, but as the "prep" work continued and the more people came over to it the better I felt for just bringing it for capturing so much interest. Friend of mine took the pictures from the show, I forgot my camera :/

The generous "gap" to the right of the car was the spaces left for our division. They divided the classes through the parking lot.

Re: The G8 - Post #49 - 8/21

Congrats, looks like alot of good looking cars in the background. Yours would definitely stand out, not just because of the color. But I would have probably voted for you too, just a soft spot for the G8s, not sure why hehe
