The FWD Cobra: Just one more thing then the MG gets all the attention

Re: The FWD Cobra: I'm done with it....

Looks like the TC took a crap but the rest of the tranny looked fine. The car is back on the road but I won't be able to enjoy it for another 4 weeks.

Re: The FWD Cobra: I'm done with it....

Well...so much for not buying anything for it

Bought a GTO front splitter. GTO, GTP what's the difference

Re: The FWD Cobra: I'm done with it....

interested to see how thats going to look, been wanting to try something like that for a while now.

Re: The FWD Cobra: coil overs round two...sorta

I got the top mounts fabbed. I found out that the Summit springs I was using just for mockup are a little bigger than the Eibachs I have now which fit perfect. I need to trim the fender liners and yes the back will be coming down to. I have the parts, just no time. I'll be in Michigan and Indiana for the next 5 weeks.

it looks real good the way it sits now, nice job man

Re: The FWD Cobra: I'm done with it....JK

I think the splitter might need some modification to fit just right, but its gonna look good

Re: The FWD Cobra: I'm done with it....JK

The dimensions of our cars and the GTO are pretty damn close. I'm not expecting much modification if any.

Re: The FWD Cobra: I'm done with it....JK

Lots of pics once finished. Not to be a copy cat but I might steal this idea once you are finished.

Re: The FWD Cobra: I'm done with it....JK

Copycat all you like. It'll be a couple of weeks till I'm back home.

Re: The FWD Cobra: I'm done with it....JK

I'm in Florida. You have to try real hard to get rust to start

Re: The FWD Cobra: I'm done with it....JK

Look at what came in the mail today. Obviously the fit isn't perfect but it gives me something to work with. Although the dimensions of the cars are and the shape of the bumpers are similar it'll need some shaping to get it to follow our bumper line.

One of the problems is that it's hitting the airdam so there's trimming on the backside automatically. The other trimming will need to be on the ends. I could do two different things. I could trim the outside some to that it follows the bumper line evenly possibly all the way back it it's long enough to do so. The other idea I had is cut off the ends and get it to blend into the bumper where it curves from the front to the side and I wouldn't have anything on the sides really. Either way it's definitely a weekend job so I can think how I want to do this.
