I'm getting ready to start assembling parts for the f-body upgrade for my 01 GT.
I was looking at ZZP's F-body aluminum caliper kit. I'd love to lose 10 lbs of ugly fat, but their price is painful.
They also claim, "We are now using calipers from GM that have the correct 14mm mounting bolts in them. This means that your F-body kit will use the same factory bolts as your stock caliper."
So what calipers/brackets are they using, from what car(s)? Are they selling GXP calipers with F-body rotors?
Yeah, I figured that out pretty quickly. Are theirs new at least? Or reman like I can find anywhere much cheaper? $250 isn't completely ridiculous if they're new.news flash all F bodys calipers are AL.
I'm beginning to suspect you are right. The picture sure looks like f-body calipers & brackets. If that's the case, they aren't being completely honest. They are likely full of ****. Probably just drilling them out and tapping them to accept the stock bolt like most of us do anyway.

So I guess there is this now
Gen5 SS front brakes dont need adapter plates to bolt to a Wbody though. ZZP is using the Camaro SS rear calipers for some reason, probably because they are a little smaller and thinner so....easier to fit behind wheels. Rockauto says the rear rotor on a gen5 SS is 365mm or 14.37in so Im not sure why they paired it to the 13.6" rotor in thier kit. Obviously its a OEM for something with the same wheel bolt pattern, the right rotor offset and the right thickness.
You don't need to tap them just run the sleeves
And it's not all about the rotor size at that point. Billet 4 piston 2 piece caliper > cast alum. 2 piston
Honestly it's still a GP no matter what brakes you put on it. I'm very happy with the GXP fronts I did, more than enough stopping power for the streets.

After contacting them, they are remanufactured, and they want $100 for the brackets alone, i.e. get lost. Guess I will buy my exhaust elsewhere.Yeah, I figured that out pretty quickly. Meanwhile every piece I need is available on Amazon for a grand total of about $190 and no cores.
