• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

Swaybar Sizes

Keep in mind that the 04-05 cars can get away with smaller front bars due to the better motion ratio offered by the direct-acting sway setup. In addition, the rear bar makes a much larger difference on these cars, and the Comp-G does have a bigger rear bar than the other GPs

edit: Moog does make front links for our cars: K80852 Rockauto has them.

Makes sense, the bars travel farther since the link attaches to the strut rather than further back on the LCA, which also explains why it handles so badly. It has to really lean into a curve before it stiffens up, when it leans in it really grabs but there is a zone in there between those extremes where it really floats around. Makes it feel like it is wandering back and forth all the time if you aren't really pushing it or the curve keeps changing pitch.

Thanks for the expalnation, now that you said it it all makes perfect sense.

EDIT: found out later that my handling problems were because of the rear hub bearings

Do these measurements pertain to a 2005 Base? I'm looking to replace the bushings on my 05 Base and Moog gives 3 different sizes for front bushings

im going to be changing out the front and rear bars, over the winter and im tryin to find out where to buy the dorman front bar, i looked on the dorman products website but didnt see anything about buying one

Part number for the 04-05 Comp G front sway bar is 10346886. GMpartsdirect just says STRUT, no info. The part number for the stock 04-05 front sway is 10342300.
Both these bars felt like they weighed the same, I only noticed a difference because I put the thicker Moog endlinks on.
Moog K6662 is the Rear, K80852 is the front, they are pretty cheap on rock-auto.

I measured my 04 comp g rear bar last weekend and it measured at about 20mm that was right over near the endlink

^^ thats consistent with gmpp sway kit, which is 19mm solid. i always thought thats what comp g's got.
