Such a thing as to much timing?

Just making sure on this one, is there such a thing as to much timing to a point where it's not beneficial? Right now I'm at 24*-26* at WOT and not knocking yet lol

Drop the timing and pulley down...man I need chipped pistons...does that give me a better running car? LOL :D

I think I remember a conversation detailing that anything above 22* WOT is useless. But I read that like... six months ago. In the meantime, I've been rather enjoyed by my beer. So, make of that what you will.

"I ran up to 22*is timing on my old setup, never ran any better than when the timing was 20*. So I backed it back down to 20 and called it a day." - Reptile

It all comes down to spark burn time and piston travel, which you need an ignition scope to figure out.

Already running ragged lol, don't have the money to purchase a pulley right now, maxing out what I can get out of this 3.6. Whenever I get a new motor it'll be a much better setup believe me.

I'm about to go do that actually. I'm not really scared of breaking anything else really, still runs like a top and does autox as well.

AutoX'ing is pretty legit in a boat...I give ya kudos.

I'd get headers and put a stock pulley on it with a high comp bottom end ;)

IIRC 18-20* is best for a super charged motor and for a NA that the max timing is 20-26* WOT. Also I think that a degree or two can be added if running ethanol but I would not go much higher and only do it if you are running e85 all the time.
