Subway's GT: Time to close my legs, it smells everywhere

Re: Subway's GT: Top Swap Parts Are In - Jared Fogle would like to fondle them first

we know why that car was in the junk yard now lol

Re: Subway's GT: Top Swap Parts Are In - Jared Fogle would like to fondle them first

The heads were parted out from a GTP that wasn't running.

Re: Subway's GT: Top Swap Parts Are In - Jared Fogle would like to fondle them first

i bet it had a mystery misfire on #5.

Lol, more than likely. And I've yet to do the rear head, so there might be more. Is that considered a large gap in terms of bad seating valves?

Re: Subway's GT: Top Swap Parts Are In - Jared Fogle would like to fondle them first

any gap is to much, they need to seal off when closed.

Re: Subway's GT: Top Swap Parts Are In - Jared Fogle would like to fondle them first

when I put the L32 heads on my car, I took them to a machine shop to get the valves lapped. wish I hadn't now that I see how easy it is. the machinist said the heads probably wouldn't have worked very well before they were lapped because of sealing issues, so it's good I had them lapped, and that you are doing the same thing now.

Boy and to think I have an entire l67 sitting in pieces in my shed ....

Yes, lapping is super easy. Except for the fact the tool I have doesn't stick to the valves since they're concave, I have to use my thumb to press on them and spin them lol. It just takes some time especially if it's your first time. But you get the hang of it.

You can see how nicely they turn out on the intake side.

Re: Subway's GT: Top Swap Parts Are In - Jared Fogle would like to fondle them first

If you need a refund on some of the stuff, Jared... I'm still learning, so I tried my best to describe and take pictures - but apparently not good enough, lol.

BTW, those heads were given to me by the guy I bought my old GTP from, he said the engine blew on it..., so, that's probably why.

That would be nice. I know I'm taking a risk by buying used parts, but some of the stuff was "hidden" problems. But if you want to PM me about it, that would be cool.

Oh sorry, I thought they were the ones you took off the GTP. Lol, my bad.

Re: Subway's GT: Top Swap Parts Are In - Jared Fogle would like to fondle them first

Nope, half the parts I know next to nothing about besides "1997 GTP, 200k miles, engine blew", lol. Okay, I'll PM you when I get home.

Re: Subway's GT: Top Swap Parts Are In - Jared Fogle would like to fondle them first

Buying used parts is great if you know the condition or if you know they were working before they sold...

Re: Subway's GT: Top Swap Parts Are In - Jared Fogle would like to fondle them first

I tried to make sure I disclosed any relevant info before selling anything... Including what the parts came off of and known condition before hand, regardless though, PM sent Jared.

Looks like it rolled of the assembly line xD. Except for the passenger fender :th_lipssealed2:.

Re: Subway's GT: Top Swap Parts Are In - Jared Fogle would like to fondle them first

I'm going to the junkyard tomorrow, and I'm gonna try and find a new fender.

Re: Subway's GT: Top Swap Parts Are In - Jared Fogle would like to fondle them first
