• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

Starting to build up the intrigue, finally

Haha, your better off being there doing the work with bill, you'll leave well educated about these motors for sure. But if you do drop it off make sure you give him all your parts needed and a time frame as to when you want it back lol.

Sucks about the trans but at least you and bill can have that fixes in no time!

Anyone else have a strong urge to drop a car off at bills with a trunk full of parts and hope it will magically apprear sitting outside the garage ready to go hunting some stop lights????

Can't wait for this to be done getting the WTF look from some mustang owner or something would be priceless!

I've done that.

Guilty as charged....

Since this thread is about the Intrigue...I changed the sign above the door to ... # of hours Intrigue has been in garage. Next week it'll go back to Now Serving.

In reality though, fixing this issue should be pretty easy. I'm hoping when the band moved it didn't hurt the casing etc. And if it did...it'll mean an extra 30 minutes to swap the guts out of this case and into my other (stop laughing that I had multiples) old bonne trans sitting on the shelf. That's right, it's in the way and I'll gut it in a minute and scrap whatever gets in the way. Then we'll drop a non painted trans into the car.

Tomorrow morning, I may take a ride to a JY so that we can er uh..fix that other issue before we put the subframe back in place. Max has a broken sway bushing holder. Then I'll bend the little metal clip that holds the pads in place on his caliper so that something makes noise and drives him nuts.

Sucks about the trans issue. But at least you have the help of someone very educated in this field. That will make all the difference.

Little off topic but what is a backwards bolt? Like reverse thread? Or facing backwards? Doesn't really matter but if there is a reverse thread bolt on my car I'd like to know where it is.

Josh..you have earned a trip to the How to section. Search out my name and the word "ea sy" without the space. Find the swap/replace a transmission one. You'll find the info on the backwards bolt. Many guys have trouble getting the trans out the first time if they aren't up to speed about there being 5 bolts between the engien and trans.

Don't underestimate the Intrigue guy who never posts. Max is very knowledgable and often I ask him questions on things. As well...he's been hanging out around the garage for at least a couple of years. Last night I was on the laptop finishing up some work and he was in the garage prepping for trans removal.

Trans came out and was on the stand yesterday. Cracked the case open again and found something that may have been the problem. Put a new band in and it's back together, ready to go back into the car. Couple more hours after Max arrives and it should be back together.

I didn't hit the jy since we appear to have a monsoon going through the area.

I'm not complaining either lol. Thanks Bill : )

Yeah, hopefully by 1-2pm I'll be at Bills and will have her running this afternoon!
