• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

Some more top swap questions! Yay!

If they leak it could. I'm not saying that "method" doesn't work but for what it's going to cost to weld them shut the right way why bother. And that's not from neglect it's from the pos plastic gaskets there is a revised upper plenum now.

It's a gasket... it eventually fails it's not going to last forever, sh*t happens... I'm sure the car gave you some kind of a hint like running like poo/overheating/smoke etc that throws a red flag that a something is wrong and to stop driving it and pop the hood and find out what's going on.

Actually it didn't man I started the car in the garage one day and it ran for 20 seconds and shut off glad I wasn't going down the road but you know everything it happened to you right? Lol

Yeahhh a million dollars later LOL it happened at 120,000 miles smh but do you see my thread about the slp intake? What do you think about it?

Nope you probably should replace them all though I had an issue with them to I bought injectors from zzp and they never changed them I pulled the injector rail out and that happened I sent them back and they changed them all I did find them on ebay though

Replace the plastic ring they come off I'd change them all they get brittle from heat here's the ebay item number for them zzp sells them 171069431721

No problem they are a bit*h to get on use a little grease put the new ring on a flat surface and push the injector into it then work it the rest of the way with your fingers might what to buy a couple extra incase you break one they are pretty pliable when they are new though

Do you even really need them? From my understanding they were used in the assembly process to consistently place the injectors at the right depth and keep the o-ring on. I just popped all mine off and did not replace them. I however did clean, ohm checked, new tiny filters, and new o-rings. There are injector cleaning companies that will ultrasonic clean and flow test them to.

As far as the crank pulley go to Autozone and rent the pulley puller previously mentioned. Run to Home Depot or Lowes and get 3 M6-1.00 75mm (or is it 1/4x28, I can't remember) bolts and grade 8 washers. Use the ducks foot, pop the little metal thingie off the pusher bolt. (It pries off pretty easily). Stick a short 3/8 extension in the hole. Don't buy the tool! Some people order longer M6 bolts so you get more pulling distance but my method worked just fine for me. Just need to pop the flat metal piece off the pusher bolt because it will hang up on the pulley and push against the pulley and not the crank snout.

you can use them with the bottom busted like that. new o ring, push em in the hole. i always oil the o rings. the o ring is what seals it, not the bottom retainer.

Yea I understand they will seal but what happens when you go and pull the rail out someday and the rest of it chips off and goes down in the motor? Ask me how I know lol.

I say just grab a pair of pliers and crank them all off. Worse case scenario is you remove an injector down the road and you have to fish out the o-ring with a small plier or screwdriver. Lube new o-rings, replace the tiny filters, ohm check, and run em. I see no requirement to run them personally.

its thin brittle plastic it will blow out the exhaust. and the o ring can be removed with a pick should it ever stay in there. if you got one busted one, just use it. not the end of the world, search the site. A LOT of guys run em busted like that.
