so who here has beaten cobalts?

Quick ?, If the cobalts are light and have the power to be very quick then can they beat cars such as STIs or S2ks or any of those light imports that are so fast cause they small and light?

none of the above cars are traditional drag cars, and are also manual trans vehicles as far as i know, so... driver's race any way you look at it. also, the stage kits that GM put out for the LSJ cars are very potent, as well as the turbo upgrade kit for the LNF cars. i don't know anything about s2k's but haven't heard many good things from the honda techs i talk to. as for the sti... i don't think the cobalt was really designed to be on the level of the awd cars, but it could probably give it a good run

friend has an STI no way in hell a cobalt is touching it, well maybe a heavily modded one but it would be close his STI is quick

Lets not dismiss STI and EVO owners as non-stupid here... They still think they're faster than modded LSx cars. I get my jollies on showing them that they're not.

no kidding. 3500lbs isn't exactly light but it's really balanced. really easy to flick around. understeer can be a problem in the tight corners though, and you do get some body roll. but i know i've gone through a couple turns faster than i should have and was kinda surprised it held to be honest. and the new stability control programs can help you out

If you think a grand Prix is nimble and well balanced I think you need to drive more cars. The best handling car I have ever driven is a Mini Cooper S, 2nd is a 2008 Corvette with less then fantastic tires on it.

10 lengths huh......like smart car lengths?

son of a gun you found that youtube video ?!?!?! lmao. No it was more like "150 feet of rubber on the road on his side from all of his first and second on the rev limiter and me being able to 60 foot 2.10's on street tires"..........lengths. I told him his **** was garbage at the track until he learns how to drive just like every other stick shift kid i run into

proud owner of a 2008 cobalt SS sir. night and day difference between it and my grand prix

Ive beaten 1 but ive been in another vehicle thats trumped one. Ls Vtec mid compression turbo si smashed it 2 times on a 40 roll he has all bolt ons maybe a tune and pulley. It was 3 cars by about 100 ... 98 talons tsi big16 from launch my buddys car. Smashed obviously but that car pulls good top also its a high 12er.

Raced an Ion redline tonight with a stage 3/exhaust. He followed me out to a deserted road on my way home. I got him from a dig all the way up until 80-90 when i shut down, I was about a car or two ahead and he was either staying there or slightly pulling, i couldnt tell. then we went from a 30 roll and since i had it in first I got a huge jump, but he started pulling and passed me at about 80 or so (which i expected) He had 2 other people in the car which is why i suspect it was so close.

Guy told me it was a stage III. He could have meant ZZP or GM stage III, idk ill ask him if i ever see him. The GM stage 3 tune has the OPTION for N20 in the tune, but it doesnt come with it according to wiki. and its not street legal by itself without the N20. For now ill just assume he meant ZZP's stage 3, since GMs stage 3 gets rid of AC.

Even with a horrible launch, those little f'kers will reel in a GTP in a big way.

My car club that i attend regular meets to is 99% cobalts and ion redlines. I've ran stock lsj and lnf. The stock ss SC is putting out low hp to the wheels and ****ty torque. Yes ill pull them.

My bfs redline is boasting zzps stage 2 right now and sporting 260 to the wheel. Stage 3 i imagine is probably around 280-290
