• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

so who here has beaten cobalts?

hey silver. sorry i sounded like an ass. lol.
for the record, id take a slower mustang over a super fast cobalt ANYDAY.

Its not a big deal lol. I dont let this stuff work me up, I was just stating my opinion on both.

On another note: If this is Ryan's cobalt that everyone is mentioning (Ryan's ZZP LSJ Cobalt Dynos 891 WHP - YouTube) then I hope it would be able to walk my mustang. He probably has more money into the short block than I have in my entire mustang including the purchase price lol. Forged short block and 54psi, if that car didn't walk my mustang id hope he would burn it to the ground haha

$1000 goes a lot further on a lot of different vehicles. I don't consider a 13 second car fast. (Thats if spending $1000 on a GP can get it in the 13's.)

You know what goes fast in a straight line cheap? A gtp. Spend a thousand dollars on a stock gtp and you've got a world of difference.

spend a thousand dollars on a gtp and youve still got a mid to high 13 second family car. a world of difference yes, still slow, yes.

I spent $2000 and bought an entire car that ran low to mid 12's. If I put another $500 into it it would have been in the 11's.

13's isn't fast.

Id have to ask our parts guy. He did the work for him. Custom exhaust but it sounds unnaturally deep for a 4 cylinder.

LNF stock from factory is 260. That's because of a learn down feature in their tuning.
One of my friends went from 260 to 330 with a tune, intake and minor exhaust work pushing 23psi.]
Cobalt 2008-2010 HP & Torque ratings:
280HP @ 4,700 RPM

320 lb,-ft of torque @ 4,300 RPM

Kit disables "learn down feature"

This performance upgrade maintains no-lift shift feature on Cobalts and HHR's and adds it for the Solstice/Sky.

that is the stage 1 upgrade (pcm retune)

what kind of intake and exhaust wizz is this kid to get 50 hp?

turbo cobalts are fast but they are mustang (hype) type of a car. do i wish i had one? yes.

You can quote internet findings all day. Im telling you from dyno and personal experience chevy lists them at 280hp. Its ACTUALLY 260hp.

And yes i did say tune and yes there is a learn down feature that cripples the capabilities.

What about the SRT4 wouldn't that be a comparable car to the SS/TC?

Not really, when most stock SRT4's run with SS/SC's.

Maybe an SRT4 ACR would be a better match-up...but still.

Buddy cracked out a 13.89 in his...with the ACR package...and it had some sticky BFG's on it.

I agree. They both have 2 power windows, after all. *snicker*

this thread's got stamina and endurance. for what it's worth, a new civic si tried to pull a fly-by on the highway yesterday.
