So it's time for a smaller pulley.

Hey guys, I've searched a bit and haven't really found much on anyone having a similar setup to mine. So I'll started a thread. I have a low mileage L32 swapped in, with ER rockers, SSACs, FWI (Big whoop), and a Reptile tune. The tune was the last thing I got, and it should be good for a pulley drop. I'm curious if I should go down to a 3.5 or 3.6. I VERY rarely see KR as it sits, even then it's less than half a degree (going up hill, right before a downshift). Like I said though, it's very rare. What do you guys think? 3.6 or 3.5?

he is on a gen 5 scotty, I would recommend the 3.6

you will need rockers or a cam to go lower. or an intercooler

Damn, I was hoping the rockers would be enough to get me down to a 3.5 safely. Oh well, 3.6 it is. Now I just need to find a deal on one...anyone know of any?

Lol, thanks guys.

You might be ok with a 3.5 with rockers.. It's hard to say without trying it and scanning lol.

what size rockers?

i got 1.95's and they maybe the only way i can keep the 3.4 when i bottom swap it. unless i cam it and port the heads. have dremill will port lol

I'd just stick with the 3.6 ..... sure, you can probably do a 3.5, but I would rather tune for a leaner AFR and more timing, rather than throw too small of a pulley at it and try to tame it.

They're ER rockers, 1.85 on exhaust and 1.8 on intake. I know its backwards, the guy I bought them off of (for only $100 shipped) said he got better gains that way, so I figured I'd try it out. So far so good, but I'll really be able to tell more with the pulley drop.

No trying to thread jack here booba, my apologies.

Whats the diff between Gen 3 and Gen 5 for a pulley drop? I want to be educated here. I have a Gen 3 and going to a 3.4 with tune and headers with no knock on the stock pulley.

Generally speaking it's said

Gen v with 3.6

Would be equal to a Gen III on a 3.4

So pretty much .2 of a difference

Why is that? I'm trying to rack my brain on what would cause the difference? something to do with the positioning or size of the V?

who gives a crap about pulley size the number doesn't mean crap. Slap the 3.5 on if it doesn't knock leave it if it does go up to 3.6 and scan scan scan scan the car some more.........
