Small bubbles in trans fluid

It's a 2000 GTP.
The trans is slipping. I think it's just in 2nd, but I haven't had the car long and can't be sure about the others. The rpm will stay steady at 2500 or 3000 while the speed increases. Good, right? Anyhow, I checked the fluid and the level is correct. The fluid has just the tiniest bit of burnt smell, not even enough to be sure it's really there. It looks good. But I saw a few small bubbles in the fluid. Maybe 3 or 4 near the very top of the dipstick, on either side.
Any ideas why this might be? Also, I'm planning to change the fluid and filter tomorrow. Are the anti-slipping additives, such as Lucas or Tran Honey any good? Could they help stave off the (apparently) inevitable? I'm guessing a shift kit will only hasten it's demise, so I'm not planning on putting one in right now.
Thanks, Gas.

Lucas is the best i use it in everything and my trans is still holding together. Bubbles can form from to much or to little fluid. I'd do a pan drop and add a bottle of lucas.
