Found a gtp on CL and well im not sure if I should go for it or not. It would be an occasional driver for me (getting ready to buy a newer wrangler;)) and would be doing a trade. Would this be asking for trouble? I would think the tranny would be getting close to needing some work. hes asking 39(which seems high) KBB is at 3368 for excellent. Thanks for the advice in advance!

Ill try and find the link. My worry is that I buy this and in 6 months im throwing money at it like crazy for a tranny rebuild or more.
 
Mine has 210K on it and the trans has been slipping for about 20K miles. It doesn't do it since my tune turns up the line pressure in the trans. I'm just gonna drive it till the trans doesn't work anymore.
 
Where in Indiana are you? I'm just south for fort Wayne and saw that car listed the other day. Honestly, I'd keep looking. You can find something better. There was a 05 Bermuda blue gxp the other day. 100k miles, $9k.
 


If KBB is $3.3k in excellent condition then theres your answer. No car with 207k on the clock will be in excellent shape. Sorry I don't care if he's a mechanic or not no car will ever be in excellent shape at the mileage. There's going to be flaws on the exterior and the interior I can promise is going to show some wear and tear for sure! The guy thinks that just because it has some ugly aftermarket part like the projector halo headlights, altezza tails, and the konig wheels sounds like this guy is living in the Fast and Furious era still. Also sounds like he has some fun with it if he's telling you about throttle response and passing people on the road.
It may have every single maintenance record, which is good but if KBB is saying its $3.3k in excellent condition then sounds like its time for negotiating. I would off him $3000 for it, but if it were me I wouldn't even look at it. 200k is alot of miles I don't care if its got a new motor and tranny other things are going to give out. $5 says the heated seat doesn't work, rear view auto dimming mirror doesn't work, and the HUD doesn't work 100% of the time.

Those all work on mine :D But i would not pay more than $2500 for that car. I paid $2500 for mine and i overpaid.
 
My rear view mirror is burnt out, my heated seat works great. but my HUD likes to mess with me. Sometimes it's very dim and sometimes it will also shut off. So I have to play with the adjustment to get it back on..

Over in Culver, which is about an hour and a half straight west of the fort.
 
Yea i think this is gonna be more trouble than its worth. Gonna keep looking but i might be just sticking with my saturn for now
