Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

Should I....

...take my buddy up on his idea to race his '02 Monte Carlo SS (with the N/A L36) against my '98 coupe GT? I do know that according to Wikipedia (excellent source huh? lol) he should have 200 ponies while I should have 195. I don't know much about his car, but it sounds fairly even to me, unless there is something I don't know about.

And before somebody asks neither cars have any aftermarket/performance anything. Both are bone stock (except for my new headlights :p ).

So...should I?

give yaself the edge.. run wit not too much fuel.. and clean out the stuff in the car... lol.. other than that.. should be a good one.. get the camera... and a holeshot and you should edge em out

Slash the tires on the passenger side of his car before the race, so he doesn't see them (secretly of course :th_jester:)

and remember when launching. 1/2 throttle to 30~ then punch it. and definately have a clean/empty car, no music either. and definitely no a/c :D

Haha, dangit....I was planning on running the AC full blast then re-routing it into the intake (to put the "cold" into CAI of course) all the while jammin' out to ACDC or something. Oh well....

:th_laugh-lol3:

Oh, and I'm going to assume that the "Burnout Mode" button (trac button) must be pushed on (off) before hand right?

He's got a stock N/A L36. From my experience, increase the throttle from 0 to 100% in about 1 second and the tires will chirp, but still hook. However, the time all depends on the tire, and speaking of which you may want to lower the front pressure a little to put more weight in the front for more traction.

Ok, so if I'm getting this right I gotta somehow hitch a ride to McDonalds in his car, make sure he has plenty to eat, leave the trash in his car (along with the bricks I secretly brought along) offer him $20 in gas for taking me, then get back to his house and line 'em up. Oh, and that's after I cleaned mine out and put in a gal or two or premium ANND after I've let some air out of the fronts.

Anything else I should know?

bet him 40 bucks to win your 20 back and have enough to put more gas in ya car

if you can use slightly higher octane, nothing crazy, but like 97 would be good.

anything else. because i think you have a solid plan right there good sir.

ok, if your gonna play like that...

typically, the change from red to green in a 4-way is 3 seconds. typically.

if not, then go to the intersection your going to be racing at, time the lights, practice once or twice. get the timing down. and beat him legitmately... via mcdonalds.

You forgot to make sure his a/c is on.

Also might want to seafoam your car between now and the race to help your engine put down all of its 160whp.

ooo ooo, idk if this'll work, but i remember when i put that lucas fuel injector cleaner in my cavalier, it made it louder and run A bit quicker, just a hair. so its worth a shot. imo.
