Shift firmness in 3rd issue

PWNED

I have a dynotech Stage 2 Transmission. I really like it and since day one its been fantastic. Now with 15k on it I am not sure if there is an issue. Under WOT it shifts quick/firm the way i like it. Now coming from a stop under light load it goes into 2nd quick and firm and i like that. Now when it goes into 3rd its almost like a bang type shift. 15% throttle and below its pretty bad. 15% seems to be its worst At around 30% it will almost go away but you can still tell its there and not right. Now I put my shift times back to stock and pressures back to stock and it still did it. So i put them back to what i had them and there was no change. Its a DHP file i am pretty sure i got from a local member. Now I remember my stock transmission used to do the same thing but it was almost as if it was a band type feel slapping something. With my dynotech its more pronownced. Occasiaonally it wont do it at all.

I posted my BIN on the Powertuner forum if that would help at all.

I decided to try it it again with a reflash. All the base shift pressures and times are stock. The performance shift times and pressures are DHP or zzp. Well the car does not shift as firm as it used too anymore in any gear. So no more of the 3rd gear issue. It still does chirp 2nd at wot so thats good in perf shift. The shifts feel exactly the same w/ perf shift on or off around town. I did not go wot at all with perf shift off. Maybe its a bad program? Makes no sense because perf shift is untouched from the previous BIN and it doesnt shift very firm.

If the pcm flash made no change I would suspect badly worn accumulator pins/pistons/acc body bores but since the reflash did make a change then it is likely not the case. The pcm will learn a lot over time and the adaptive shifts can skew quite a bit off of stock. Doing a complete write on a pcm will reset this and put things back to a stock starting point. After you drive if a few days or weeks you will know if it goes back to where it was before the flash and if it really helped or just put it back to a starting point. It may also help with the stock tables and doing the last flash to keep shifts a bit softer and maybe the adaptive learn did not reset the first time. I use HPT and I know that doing a short write doesnt seem to effect this but doing a complete rewrite on a pcm will reset them.

I did a full write and nothing changed. I will give it a few days to learn and go from there i guess. But in past times I noticed an immediate differenaces after pcm flashes.

So i got a different shift pressure table and shift times from a member and threw them in and did a full write. Now it shifts nice and firm again. No idea why. Maybe 3rd time is a charm? I noticed an immediate differnace. I will drive it some more to see if 3rd gear acts up again.
