Shaky steering wheel, loud snap!

Ok while driving to pick up my friend I noticed the steering wheel was a bit shaky but in my mind I blamed it on the horrible roads in dc. While turning I hear a snap, I immediately pull over and take a look see and I find nothing. Then something says "check the lug nuts" I do and long behold the stud broke off. I look in the street and yup there it is with my lugnut still attached. Can I just replace the stud? Is it pretty easy?

yes jus take a hammer and bang it out and go to a parts store and bang the new back in.. there like 3 bucks a piece.. take the old one and compare it to the new tho.. ive had parts stores sell me some that were to big

It's really easy. If you can't get it to move to the right position to change it out grind a little off one side to get clearance to shove it in. Use an old lugnut to pull it through because once that lugnut is used to pull it through you're not supposed to reuse it.
