• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

Re: The Build (going turbo!)

Ummmmm dunno? It was getting dark and I didn't give it much effort. What does it mean if its flashing?

Re: The Build (going turbo!)

IF said security light is on and flashing, the system is on and will just start the car and shut it off right away.

If that is what is going on, then you need to do a security re-learn with the key. Very simple really, or you could try another key or the valet key if the light is on.

Re: The Build (going turbo!)

Ok well the security light isnt flashing. Its throwing a cam position sensor code (P0341) if i clear the code it will run for about a minute then die, if i dont clear the code it will will sputter and die after about a second

Re: The Build (going turbo!)

That's odd...didn't melt or cut a wiring harness did you...for some reason I thought it would still run even if the cam sensor goes bad

Re: The Build (going turbo!)

Well.... I think I screwed up.....Im pretty sure i forgot to put the cam position sensor interrupter on the cam gear. Its been so long since we built this engine im not sure but looking back through the pictures i dont see it. i will pull the cam sensor and see if i can crank it over by hand and see it but im pretty sure i screwed up

Re: The Build (going turbo!)

Whaaa the car wasnt running before turbo kit?
nope the car hasnt run since i started the project like 4 years ago, thats part of the problem trying to remember what i have or havent done. I dont remember if i put it in or not but im pretty sure i didnt

Re: The Build (going turbo!)

At least it didn't take you that long to figure out. I tried bleeding my brakes for a week, about 11 hours of combined bleeding before I realized I had the calipers on the wrong sides and the bleeders weren't in the right spot, lol.

whoops lol

Re: The Build (going turbo!)

so its official im an idiot. Its not there just an empty hole hee haw hee haw. Whats the best route for pulling the side off? drop that side of the cradle or go at it from the top?

Re: The Build (going turbo!)

I asked the same question. I guess it mounts on the backside of the cam gear.

Re: The Build (going turbo!)

Yeah when I saw how big the hole was for the cam position sensor my first thought was hey this may work but noooooooo.

Re: The Build (going turbo!)

Got it torn down and back together today didn't take as long as I thought it would.
