Re: The Build (going turbo!)

I know what thats like, my dads dad past away last month and we doing so much paper work to figure everything out it's crazy. Being a air force vet, us postal worker and whatever else has the federal government sending letters like it's going out of style.

Sorry for your loss. My dad is a navy vet and since it was memorial weekend if we had a regular funeral he wouldn't have gotten the military service which he deserved so we had to have him cremated to give us more time so he could have a proper funeral.

Re: The Build (going turbo!)

Im hoping to have some time next week to knock out a chunk of stuff on the car I have a pile of parts in the garage I just need to find time to put them on.

Re: The Build (going turbo!)

Yeah thats a hike lol. Im trailering my car to intense for its dyno tune hopefully next month I already have my bench tune for startup and break in but for its final tune its going over there. We were gonna do a remote tune using one of the dynos here but they (intense) were concerned with my high compression it would be difficult so im just gonna take it to them. Better safe than sorry

Re: The Build (going turbo!)

I don't blame ya, all the time, money, and red paint you've put into this. It's worth the time and effort to trailer it.

To much red? I was wondering that earlier, there is also a lot of silver its just covered up lol

Re: The Build (going turbo!)

Not at all, I personally don't like painting alternators but it looks well done on your car. Just as a finishing touch I'd paint the transmission dipstick handle so everything is the same red.

Re: The Build (going turbo!)

The alternator was just a experiment I figured I have to go with a bigger one anyways. Good idea I'll paint the dipstick tube. I pulled the turbo back off this am and wrapped the wiring harness with titanium heat wrap then I'll put the fire sleeve over it....just a bit of overkill lol

Re: The Build (going turbo!)

No such thing as overkill with these cars, they can be pyros. If you are going to get another alternator look at the CS144, they put out something like double or triple what the CS130D (stock) put out at idle. You'll need a new alternator bracket from a 99 Camaro with a 3.8L and possibly a new belt, I'm not 100% sure on the belt.
