• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

See if I'm missing anything..........

I'm mostly quiet and read a lot on here because I don't have any knowledge with S/C engines. To recap, I bought a 2002 GTP with 158k miles on it. Gave it to my mechanic and sank $1300 in getting her running correctly. (Don't worry, I didn't give much for the car.) Now that read through bluegtp91's sticky a bajillion times (Thank you SO much for that), I think I'm ready to move forward.

The car is a DD and I'm not hard on the car. I never plan on taking it to a strip. I just enjoy annoying the local hondas and F&F crowd. :th_laugh-lol3: Previous car was a 04 WRX wagon and I know this car is faster than it was. Not from a dig but a roll, it would smash it. The mechanic says the engine is in beautiful condition.

Ok, I'll get on with it.

What I'm looking at is moving to a 3.5" or 3.6" pulley. Don't really want the 3.4" as I'm not trying to push anything, I'm just trying to breathe a bit better. (I have a long history of turbo cars.) I'm looking 3.5" pulley, 3" DP, PLOG, and supporting mods for that such as plugs, open cone, t-stat and tune. The tune will be done by my mechanic. He owns a speed shop and tunes regularly.

I know the headers are cheap and better than the PLOG but I sort of like the stock/sleeper look of the PLOG. If my goal is a slightly quicker DD, does my list look correct? If I've read the sticky correctly, I should be ok but I thought it wouldn't hurt to have some more experienced people look it over compared to my goals. With the list that I'm talking about, how much gain should that be approximately good for? 30-40WHP maybe?

Thanks for double checking me. I'll take any helpful guidance I can get. here to learn.

I'd get a intake and a set of headers. Then you should be able to run a 3.4 no problem

Thanks. I was going with the open cone vs. intake since the gains are comparable to slightly better than a CAI and much cheaper. I would PREFER to stick with the PLOG. What are your thoughts on that? If I'm not trying for enormous gains, would the PLOG do what I'm looking for? If I have to go headers, I will but I sort of like the look of the PLOG. (I like the "sleeper" look under the hood.)

Appreciate your time. :th_thumbsup-wink:

the headers are probably cheaper than a plog and dp. I meant an open cone intake but i was lazy and just typed intake.

No you're spot on with your list. It will be a nice gain and you should feel a noticeable difference. You could go to a 3.4 with plog, 3"dp, and intake. Add the tune on it and will be a peppy little ride. When you start dropping pulley's you are going to want more. Just fair warning. :)

And if you decide to jump over to a turbo kit at some point. The plog can be used and is perfect for a turbo setup.

Thanks guys. That's the input I was looking for. Just making sure I had the bases covered. Switching to a turbo later could be......fun.
