Well crap day today, took off my stock spoiler to clean it up and buy a slp gen 2 found it rusty and chipping paint so i wanted to wait. Then my tablet slid off the rear window into the hinge and crunch. What a **** day.

Well dang. Keep in mind that if the fancy electronic device hadn't been placed on slanted glass.... :th_scratchhead: hope it still works!

I don't think I see anything that would prevent putting a gen 2 on. Not much old paint seems like it would be uncovered except at the ends so rattle or brush the chips and move onward! Unless I'm missing something. Having 40th spoiler thoughts of my own today, I should unbolt old and have a look.

Preesh the offer to run with one gas lid bumper but I've gotten over that now lol. Magnets are cool though. My screw magnet-

I might just try to refinish it but idk never done any sort of paint or bodywork, it would bother the crap out of me with the chips and lines from the old spoiler i tried buffing it clean but it cant do anymore. The gen 2 sits about 2-3" further back than the stocker and thats the problem. Im assuming i could sand the whole thing back hit it with filler primer and sand and repeat untill smooth then a can of of that black then clear then wetsand buff done.

Its dumb if it would have slid another like 4mm it would have been fine.

So you don't have the spoiler yet? Ah. It still looks to me like mostly just the line at the front would show. People in traffic would not notice that much especially if you did get some black into the scratches then buff it some. I think I'll run into the same thing on mine, skinnier spoiler. I was planning to shoot lid and spoiler with real stuff at the shop but I dunno. $$$. If I were you, I'd touch all that up right now even if I was just sticking the stocker back up there.

Painting that whole decklid might be more than you're ready for, with due respect. Its hard to get away with the rattle can stuff on a whole panel. Butyes you can featheredge, prime, block, SPOT paint the black, and clear the whole lid. You would need lots of the clear and some compound thats probably more agressive than what your polisher is intended for. It would be a big task even for me is what I'm sayin. With meh results at best.

Hmmm, I might just run with it and use up this touchup paint I have to get any bad chips and maybe try some different compound. I would just try to find a better shape one but chances of one being nice under the spoiler are probably slim.

Very slim, I'd say. If you let touch ups dry good (and do a neat job with enough layers to fill the chip after drying), polish or compound kinda knocks off the rough edges so they disappear better. You gotta scrub off all the dried white polish with soap and water on a mitt then wax it good when dry. With that DC black I've been using, the color is browner but close enough for down low. Hoods and decklids will show the work more. You have not much to lose since most of your defects are still gonna be under the spoiler. Practice there.

your phone is a easy fix, if the touch screen still works, buy a new screen on ebay and watch a youtube video on how to replace it.

I'll have to give that a try that junk, i covered the studs in rtv and zipped the bolts in, no leaks also cracked the spoiler slightly oops. You'll never see it unless you look for it. Oh well, excuse for a new one right? Haha

And iv looked up on ifixit how to replace it, everything works but the front camera is blurry from cracks. Looks easy enough but if it comes down to it i might just buy a new tablet this one has battery issues and is kinda older.

Did my lower mounts, they didn't look bad, dunno if its gonna stop my clunk and random KR. Dented the pan a little my fault for using a 4x4 going down the length of the car as opposed to using the 2x6 horizontally across the pan its not bad. I made sure the drain bolt can still come out so all is good. Also tightened a sway bar link more and got my wrench stuck on the link and had to pound it off. Maybe that will stop some clunk too.
