Coming along nice, getting a balancer puller tomorrow pull that and the timing cover off, then stip it down to nothing. luckily broke no bolts. One lifter was all tore up but the rest were fine. Motor looks pretty clean on the inside and it also had a block heater which I thought was weird, And as an in case I need it im putting all bolts into baggies and writing on them what they go to.

Avalanche is a great workbench haha. My grandpa is really unhappy about the oil, gas, coolant, pb blaster all over the bed of the truck lol. I'll take it tomorrow and wash it all out for him, I was going to take my car and wash it but the roads are super slushy from it hitting 50 today. So I'll wait, maybe I'll break out the pressure washer if it didn't break over winter.

Bottom end is junk waiting to happen. Don't waste your time on that block. Been there, done that...dropped a new engine in a month later.

Yep, I wasnt going to save it anyway not going to risk it myself or sell someone a junk block. I got the crank out man those caps are super stuck in there lol. All the bearings looked fine, one of the cam bearings was kinda darkish from oil I guess. I gotta just clean everything up in the garage and put everything you need for a top swap in a box and try to sell it to someone. Happy I have another cam for a lamp woo

Yep, I wasnt going to save it anyway not going to risk it myself or sell someone a junk block. I got the crank out man those caps are super stuck in there lol. And done, over the next few days I have to find homes for this stuff untill I sell it. Used a 3 jaw puller to get thr balancer off gotta return that. Got all the misc top swap stuff in a box then the rest in random boxes. Im gonna pickup some big bags from work and wrap the heads in them. I have a small collection of sensors from it too, cam, crank, map, baro, oil press, upstream 02. I tried to get the exhaust manifold studs out so I could get the head bolt out and it started to strip so I stopped, but i was able to get the other one out of the other head so I'll leave it for now. It also seems I have 1 injector thats a different color than the other 5, assuming it was probably a replacement from someplace. All the bearings looked fine, so presumed the bottom end was good but if it wiped out the cam and sent crap through the motor wasn't going to chance anything with myself using it or for anyone else. Might paint the blower black to make it sell better haha. Otherwise now starts the pain for getting rid of it all.

start porting them heads, then put that crap on your car, you looking at a 100 in gaskets and crap, 100 for a tune.

Yeah its like 112 for hg, vc, sc gasket, tb gasket, valve seals, headbolts, 180* tstat. Toon is free, I think my total is around like $700 (for everything I need for a gen 3 top swap i might be getting off a friend, total also including headers, and having the heads cleaned up with new springs and some misc other things, but doesn't include getting help to do it all)

At least if dude bails on you there is plan B, unless of course you sell and he doesn't come through....
