Rims/Tires Help.

Dont know to much about rims/tires and sizes and what not but just a quick question. Im running a set of 04 comp g chrome torque star rims on my 97. I would love to lower my car in the near future but the stock tire size is just so skinny, if i lower my car the wheel well will just swallow my tires and that wont look good. Im wondering if thicker/fatter tires will fit on these rims or if i just need new rims in general if i want this. If so.... opinions on rims where i can have thick tires to have a nice offset?

unless you want to run spacers. otherwise they are already tucked and if you lower the car they'll just look more sunk than they do already.

you need something with a lower offset to push the wheels close to the fenders.

Now, when looking for new rims with a lower offset, will it say what the offset is in the specifications of the rim?

If so, what should i be looking for in offset wise?

you should look for something around +38mm for offset.

the wheels above are 18x9 +30mm ish, which is going to be harder for you to fit nicely.

Then heres my next question, buying 4 new rims plus tires is very expensive since i just bought brand new tires a few months ago. Wheel spacers are roughly around $100 on ebay. Can i just run some wheel spacer for now until i snag up enough money in the future for a full new set of rims and tires? What size wheel spacers? i was thinking 1.25in like these.

4 BILLET WHEEL ADAPTERS 5x5 to 5x115 1.25" - BOLT ON SPACERS 5 LUG | eBay

Should those work or should go with thicker around 1.5in or go thinner? 1.25in seemed right because thats how far in my rims are now from the wheel well.

that's why i keep saying you'll need new wheels to run a flush setup. 10mm will help, but you probably don't want to run anything bigger than that.

here is a thread laying them out which ones you should buy. apparently intense carries them.

INTENSE-Racing.com: ARP Wheel Studs

they are 0.5" longer than stock, or ~12.5mm longer. they should be good for up to around a 20mm spacer. that being said, i still think different wheels are a better option.

i agree with different rims is better but for now, since i just bought sd hood and front air dam and they still need painting, i cant quite fund the money for new rims and tires. that can get very expensive, so in the mean time i was going to put on SSC springs on stock struts (rear struts are brand new) with anti-pogo washers and wheel spacers for now since that isnt to expensive. So ill have a better look than stock while saving the money for new rims/tires.

i found these, decently priced too:
